Laundry is never-ending it seems like. I do a little bit each day instead of all at once. It’s never the same day mostly because I tend to forget to do it. Ok, I stare at it and talk myself out of doing the laundry that day. So a schedule does not work for me.
We do have our middle school boys do their own so they will be prepared for move out day! 🙂 They do good other than the hang up part. The clothes tend to end up on the floor of their closet. Maybe because they know mom will eventually hang them up for them. 🙂
It drives me nuts to see clothes not hung up.
A little trivia:
- 21% of indoor water usage is from laundry. (http://laundry.about.com) Maybe that is why I pile the laundry in the least number of loads possible. 🙂
- The average American family does 8-10 loads every week. (http://laundry.about.com) I can believe that one.
When we looked at our current home we loved the fact the laundry room was a separate room and that it was on the main level. Once we moved in hubby discovered the space was a tad bit small for our laundry set. He had to remove the trim to make them fit. It’s snug. 🙂
Further discover our dryer is on the left. Now, I may be wrong but isn’t the dryer always on the right? Strange and it has been fun adapting to. My routine of throwing the clothes from the washer to the dryer was out of sync for a while. 🙂
I would say the construction builders goofed when building the house and didn’t want to correct it. I guess we will be unique. 🙂
What’s up with cats loving to crawl behind the machines? They are always knocking the dryer vent off.
I foresee a future project for hubby blocking their access with shelves. 🙂
If you look at the shelves that is something we will need to do to block access for the cats. Might have to make it where they can easily come apart for cleaning back behind, etc.
I don’t get the fancy light, too fancy for a laundry room. 🙂
Here is another shelf idea but would have to lower it and make it the width of the space from the wall to the machines. There is a good gap so the shelf would be plenty wide. Hubby didn’t push the machines clear back because it was very tight getting them in there. A shelf should work.
Oh, honey….I have a to do thing for you! 🙂
