I Love Pens!

I am a pen hoarder! I love writing on paper. I like the look and the privacy of putting pen to paper. One does not have to worry about a hacker getting important information like when using the computer. Might have to worry about the cat eating the paper. Yes, I have a cat that loves chewing on paper, Emo. It is crazy. Maybe he thinks he is a dog. πŸ™‚

I love looking at pens on different websites and in stores.Β IΒ have pens of all types and colors, including the ink and the outside of the pen. I came across a great pen selection at It has me thinking I could use some pens with my business name and website on them.

I once worked for a grocery store as a secretary. I would order our pens like this as a way to advertise. Why not? Sometimes I end up with an extra pen from a business that I did not mean to take. πŸ™‚ Β OOPs. Whenever I used the pen again I would remember the business and go back shopping.Β One reason to order pens with your business on it. And it is cool to see your name on something. πŸ™‚

If you think about the cost of advertising, it is pretty reasonable to order a sizable amount of pens. Plus, you get a cool pen to add to your collection! πŸ˜‰ I have had good luck with promotional pens, they write well. πŸ™‚

I’m thinking of going with the twist promotional pens. If I get the clicking ones, I irritate myself by clicking the top when I’m thinking. πŸ˜‰

It is a toss-up between these two:

I like the colors and the magnet would be cool.

—- Click it to the fridge or the file cabinet.

—- No trying to find a pen. πŸ™‚

Love color! Simple. Easy to grip.

Do you hoard pens?

Question? What was the last online video clip you watched?

On writing a novel by using plotting.

It was a YouTube video on writing. I am always watching short information videos by other authors. It helps to learn what works and what doesn’t.

Art Journaling videos. I’m getting ideas to do family albums with the journaling art.

Question? What’s the newest thing you’re wearing today?

I have nothing new. LOL

My grey shorts. They are comfy, stretchy and got them on clearance for $4.00! Yay for markdowns! πŸ™‚

Nothing. I haven’t bought me clothes in a couple years. If it fits and looks good I wear it forever. πŸ™‚

Question? Who are you jealous of?

Those who have big families like Aunts, Uncles, cousins, grandparents, etc and that they still get together for weekends and holidays.

I’m actually letting go of jealous feelings. They interrupt your life and are not good.

I’m not. Jealousy causes problems. Best to not have it in your life. Let go.

Sept. 9th

Question? What comes to mind when you think of fear?

Dying before I’m 80.

Losing a close family member or friend. Always a sad thing to go through. It is happening more in our family as I get older. The part of growing old that sucks. ;(

My kids being unhappy and feeling alone. Kids drifting away from us. Kids not being a huge part of the family circle.

Question? This is utterly confounding ______

Money. It really does make the world go around.

Government. Always. Doesn’t matter what party. Needs to go back to basics and for the people. A smaller group.

People who are close minded. They see only their side and not anyone else’s. World is becoming scary.

Question? What advice would you give to a second-grader?

Be nice to others. Love your family. Play. Learn.

Don’t bully. Respect adults. Love your family. Learn. Play cause someday you will not get to play as much.

Do your work. Respect others. Play outside lots. Listen to your parents. Never bully, it hurts.

Once Upon a Time…1989

I wrote this poem when I was a senior in high school. I submitted it to be published and they did! I have not located the certificate yet but if I remember right I received Editor’s choice. πŸ™‚ No money was won but I was happy to be recognized!

Our local paper even did a story on it and published my poem. I have yet to figure out where I put that. I am in the middle of reorganizing so hopefully I will come across it again.

The Book it is published in. I bought a copy.

A total of 3,207 entries were published. πŸ™‚ I feel honored to have won an award. πŸ™‚

The Poem

Once Upon a Time

Started me and you were just friends

Because you were insecure

You wouldn’t let your feelings show

You pretended to notice nothing.

Made like I didn’t care

Reaching out for something

Pretending it was there

Now I’m left with nothing.

You acted like you cared deeply

Talking about the weather to us

Having tons of fun together

Then saying it was passing time.

Eyes that once danced, now drown in tears

Tearing at the love in my heart

Remembering too many bad lies

There’s never been a good goodbye.

Turn The Lights Down Turn The Volume Up

The Media Room. AKA The Boys Cave as my youngest likes to call it. πŸ™‚

The beginning it was storage.

The walls began going up, then the fun of mudding and sanding. Hubby had that fun. πŸ™‚

Painting stage! Hubby painted and I did the touch-up. We are not perfect but I think it looks nice. In fact, compared to the pros that did this house our flaws are not much different from theirs. Sad. I would think the pros would blow us away. πŸ™‚

The almost finished product. We love how the stain turned out on the baseboard and around the entertainment area. It really goes with the flooring we chose. We went with a new versalock vinyl plank. It was simple and it is water proof! A big plus! It required snap and go! No gluing! πŸ™‚

The two end shelves have yet to be done but it will be covered in wood and stained to match the rest. πŸ™‚ The cats have already claimed it to sit on. πŸ™‚ Eventually the flooring will be the entire basement other than the storage area. We will add a drop down ceiling so we can still get to all the plumbing and ductwork. πŸ™‚ I’m sure problems will arise.

Looking at the drop down ceilings, they have really made them look cool and sound proof. I like that. I saw that one could even paint them but I think we will leave them white to bring out some light.

The boys are enjoying their space. It solved the problem of electronics in their rooms. πŸ™‚ Yay!

Now, if only I could find the right comfy furniture. πŸ™‚ A couch is out of the question because the stairs turn and it is a mess to get things down there. I’m thinking comfy chairs or a lounge chair.

Pondering it. πŸ™‚
