Busy As A Bee

The last few weeks have been as busy as can be. At least I am keeping myself busy. I have painted walls, organized cupboards, decorated, and done some editing and writing on the two books in progress.

I feel much better about my accomplishments.

I was lagging for several months. I hope to keep this going in the new year! 🙂

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. It was fun here. It was hubby and the two youngest sons. The two older kids couldn’t make it. Sad face, but understand. They do get to come home the week of Christmas and New Years! Yay!

I am dreading the driving in KC to pick up the sailor son. Normally, hubby does that driving and work is overriding that one this time.

I have faith.

I can do it.

Garfield is how I feel about driving in KC. But I will do it to see my son!

Now, I will have to learn to cook for six again for a week! That could be interesting! LOL… Normally, during the week I cook for three and then the weekend for four when hubby is home. I don’t always get it right then. LOL

I look forward to making more memories with all four kids home! 🙂

I had this great plan of starting Christmas shopping way early this year in October. I even put it on the calendar to remind me every Friday.

About that, didn’t happen.

I thought about what gifts to buy but that is as far as it went. I suppose I am meant to always be a last minute shopper! I even had ideas for some homemade gifts. Didn’t happen. Sigh.

How early do you shop?

I am a writer and an artist, at least in my mind. :) I love to read!

  1. Christmas shopping….yeah….that didn’t happen either for me YET! I’ve been busy too. You seem busier though! Glad you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. One of these nights I want to head down to Old Colorado City or downtown Colorado Springs and walk around and see all the decorations. Do you get a lot of snow there?

      1. It’s supposed to snow after 3 am today. I plan to stay home anyways and decorate my little home. Should be fun with making cookies and listening to Christmas music! How’s your decorating coming along? Btw. Make sure to check out my poem about “Tristan” and later a blog about Tristan. Hehe! I wish I had your email because I can’t wait to tell people about Tristan. LOL

  2. I’m usually done shopping by December, but I had to plan my sister’s baby shower. So it was hectic. But after the shower was over, I did my shopping and I even wrapped this weekend. So I’m all set!
I hope you continue to be productive and get your shopping done soon. 🙂

  3. We have been minimalists at Christmas for the past six years. I’m putting out cold items for Christmas dinner – ham, potato salad, pasta salad, cheeses, olives, etc. No decorating or shopping this year. It’s rather nice to just cruise into Christmas day with no stress.

I’m glad you had a nice Thanksgiving, Julia. Have fun cooking for six! I know you’ll do great. 🙂

    1. Nothing wrong with that! Yummy food! We did lasagna last year. Pretty simple. Some years I don’t decorate as much. I enjoyed it this year and still didn’t put out everything. 🙂 Yes, no stress is the ultimate! Thank you! I hope your Christmas is wonderful! 🙂

  4. I feel like Garfield right now. :/ I’m so tired and sleepy right now, but I have to take a shower. Late nights. How was your Christmas? Got any plans for New Years? 🙂
