Seftonite…Type of Bloodstone

I subscribe monthly to a rock box from Awakening In A Box. Love the stuff!

My collection is growing.

I like the feel of this one. Smooooth.  🙂

Each stone comes with a card with a description like above. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have a clue.

Bloodstone has the appearance of red specks which remind people of blood and was carried by warriors. They thought it would stop blood flowing from wounds. Superstition, but some of us like to believe in things like that.  🙂

I bought a book to read more about the rocks, gems, and crystals. The name is Crystals by Jennie Harding. Full of information.

Bloodstone is a member of the quartz family and it has a hardness of 7 which is suitable for carving. Mine is polished. The green isn’t as noticeable as the pictures in her book.  Mine is pretty dark.

Physical Properties

  • healing stone
  • stop hemorrhages
  • purify the blood, kidneys, bladder, intestines, and liver
  • beneficial to the heart and blood circulation
  • neutralize toxins and aid in their release

Mental/Emotional

  • calm our mind
  • remove confusion
  • revitalize us
  • enhance creativity and intuition
  • make decisions
  • strength
  • courage
  • avoid danger

Spiritual

  • eliminates negativity
  • aids clairvoyance
  • stimulates dreaming
  • admittance to spiritual realms of our ancestors

I would love if it did do all this. Wouldn’t it be amazing if stones could heal us? I like to believe in it.  🙂

I made this tonight for three of my kids. It was yummy!

Buffalo Ranch Bombs, catchy name. Ingredients are Grand biscuits, shredded chicken, Buffalo Wild Wings seasoning, ranch seasoning, melted butter, cheddar cheese, and parsley. Two of the three kids loved them. The one wouldn’t even try them. I think next time I will make the chicken mix and put it in with noodles and do a noodle bake.  🙂

Have a splendid day!  🙂

  1. Blood stone? Love it! Do you have Dragon’s Blood or is that just an incense name? We have the incense of that scent. It smells really good. Gems and stones are amazing!
