From KU to Rehab 2 years ago

I didn’t take photos until May so no photo in January.

I had my hair cut short because it was hard to take care of by me and my helpers, hubby and the daughter. Even though they said they had no problem i felt like I should help them out. I knew it would grow again.

I was released from the hospital and a hospital van took me to rehab at Madonna in Lincoln Nebraska. They were all awesome there. But with covid going on I couldn’t have any visitors but hubby and the daughter. Which sucked because I had several friends that could visit me since I lived there for two years when the daughter and oldest son was young. Dang Covid. I never got Covid. ๐Ÿ™‚

I had to lie down, mask on, and only see out the windows from a lying down view. A long trip it seemed to take forever. I wish I could have sat up, don’t know why I couldn’t. The EMTs were fun to listen to, they joked about.

I had my own room, and my bed was comfy. My therapists worked with me a lot. I was wheelchaired down to the exercise room every day. I enjoyed the leg weights, think that is what helped me to walk and gain balance. i didn’t have much movement in the right hand, bummer. Think it would have taken longer there but insurance said not, only home therapy. It did cost a lot so understand. I did learn and took things from what they taught me. I was there from the Jan 12th to feb 4th.

I had many crying fits that year. Guess brain damage does that to you. The first year several times I wished i had not survived but hubby was golden always saying he wouldn’t like that and didn’t want that. it was only because of being disabled and not able to do what I enjoyed. And my kids kept me going they didn’t give up, so I wasn’t going to give up, 5 people wanted me in this world and that was golden. So, I pushed forward.

I loved my occupational and speech therapist on home therapy. They were great and advanced me a lot. Then insurance said no more and moved me to the rehab downtown. I liked it there it was like Madonna. Then problems happened with my teeth, got them removed but I caught infection from the implants possibly, so they removed them but i ended up in the hospital at the advice of the dentist. I had Sepsis.

I just couldn’t catch a break. It set me back in recovery and stopped the rehab. I lost lots of weight and muscle again. I can’t believe how muscle deteriorates. But we did start walking outside and got a Elliptical machine. Lots of stuff to work with. Been slow but 2022 was good for me. Hope 2023 is even better.

in 2022, better relationships all around, I think they all took the experience hard, but the boys getting me to the local hospital and doc getting me to KU saved me. Thank you

Hopefully back to old, new me. ๐Ÿ™‚ But healthier and not a procrastinator. ๐Ÿ™‚

Unhinged the Movie

The daughter and I went to the movies on Sunday early afternoon. We loved getting to watch a movie at a theater again! ๐Ÿ™‚ Our theater is a family owned one, they do own several in our state, but still small. So since June they could only show old movies. I wanted to go to a few but didn’t work out. Summer time we don’t always get to the movies but do like going all the other months. We probably see one every month or two months. Love the theater and I really hope they survive this virus. I’m not one to download movies. We did watch one and can’t even remember the title, it was a Disney one. I would rather go to a big screen to watch a movie.

We watched Unhinged! Oh, it was good. All about road rage and it is a scary thought that it could and probably does happen. Russell Crowe was soooo good in it! He was evil to the core! If you like movies definitely see this one!

I loved eating popcorn from the theater! Yum. We had only 4 others in the theater so it was like having our own viewing. The older lady behind us yelled yes at one point of the movie and it was funny but we were thinking it too! ๐Ÿ™‚

We are definitely going to go to more movies! The daughter and son are going to see one next week while I watch the granddaughter! ๐Ÿ™‚

I do have to say it was strange not having more people in the theater including employees. Sad. But hopefully it will improve.

Save the theaters! ๐Ÿ™‚

Seftonite…Type of Bloodstone

I subscribe monthly to a rock box from Awakening In A Box. Love the stuff!

My collection is growing.

I like the feel of this one. Smooooth.ย  ๐Ÿ™‚

Each stone comes with a card with a description like above. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have a clue.

Bloodstone has the appearance of red specks which remind people of blood and was carried by warriors. They thought it would stop blood flowing from wounds. Superstition, but some of us like to believe in things like that.ย  ๐Ÿ™‚

I bought a book to read more about the rocks, gems, and crystals. The name is Crystals by Jennie Harding. Full of information.

Bloodstone is a member of the quartz family and it has a hardness of 7 which is suitable for carving. Mine is polished. The green isn’t as noticeable as the pictures in her book.ย  Mine is pretty dark.

Physical Properties

  • healing stone
  • stop hemorrhages
  • purify the blood, kidneys, bladder, intestines, and liver
  • beneficial to the heart and blood circulation
  • neutralize toxins and aid in their release

  • calm our mind
  • remove confusion
  • revitalize us
  • enhance creativity and intuition
  • make decisions
  • strength
  • courage
  • avoid danger

  • eliminates negativity
  • aids clairvoyance
  • stimulates dreaming
  • admittance to spiritual realms of our ancestors

I would love if it did do all this. Wouldn’t it be amazing if stones could heal us? I like to believe in it.ย  ๐Ÿ™‚

I made this tonight for three of my kids. It was yummy!

Buffalo Ranch Bombs, catchy name. Ingredients are Grand biscuits, shredded chicken, Buffalo Wild Wings seasoning, ranch seasoning, melted butter, cheddar cheese, and parsley. Two of the three kids loved them. The one wouldn’t even try them. I think next time I will make the chicken mix and put it in with noodles and do a noodle bake.ย  ๐Ÿ™‚

Have a splendid day!ย  ๐Ÿ™‚

Been A Wee Bit

I hope this is the beginning of more blogs. It has been a busy year, so I didn’t put blogging at the top of that busy schedule. I’m ready to now. I miss it and reading everyone’s blogs. I want to believe I’ve slacked on it because I was out of ideas but I think it was simply not writing them down.

I began a different calendar/journal book and it’s taken time to figure out how I wanted to use it. It is a mix of personal and business stuff. It is meant to get me motivated. Some of the weeks I do great and other weeks I bomb completely!

Before when I wrote the blogs, it was open word and write. No planning. I’ll still write some that way but now I will try the writing on paper and planning. My calendar/journal has many cool inserts I can buy and so I’ve been having fun buying a few and experimenting with how I want to use them. I don’t always use them like it is meant to be used. I like to be creative and use them a bit differently. Like my blog posts is actually going to be wrote on an insert that is meant for lists and notes. I’ll use the list portion for the ideas and then use the note side for writing the post. Of course, when I write it in word I tend to add and change it a bit. I seem to think of more things once I start typing. It does get the ideas going. Good insert! I found it on a clearance shelf and grabbed it because of the price. I didn’t know for sure what I was going to use it for, until today. ๐Ÿ™‚

This is for my blogging.

Amazonite Rock

I love rock collecting. This year I began collecting again. ๐Ÿ™‚

I subscribe to a monthly box subscription called Awakening in a Box. I wasn’t sure how to display it at first then I saw these cute boxes that I love buying for no certain reason other than they are cute. Now they have a purpose. ๐Ÿ™‚

I am a sucker for all things container or office supplies. It is a good thing I have to drive to get most of these or my money would be gone. LOL

I love that she puts a card in that has information about it. They also come in a small bag with the name on it. I get three rocks a month along with some other fun stuff. The total cost with shipping is $19.00.

Do you subscribe to any box subscriptions? ๐Ÿ™‚
