How’s Your Year?

valentine-4(created by Me! 🙂 Forget the year)

It hasn’t been terrible but hasn’t been good either. Mostly, little things that are stressful. Kids not minding, money issues, things breaking, etc. You get the drift. I guess if fate gets all these out-of-the-way these first few months and then smooth sailing the rest of the year than that will be great. 🙂 Time will tell.

We sure have not had much winter time. I hope that doesn’t mean it will be a late winter when spring is supposed to hit. We have had cool temperatures just not the white stuff. 🙂 Glad for hardly any below zero temps. I think we had one week of that and that was enough. 🙂

Thanks to my stress level I haven’t achieved much of what I set out to do this year. But it is early. I hate being unproductive, gets me in a mood of depression. Not severe just down.

One good thing, I started back at the YMCA. A few times the boys have went with me which is fun. 🙂 They like lifting weights.

I wanted to wish everyone a Happy Valentine’s Day tomorrow. It is my favorite holiday. I love hearts and all things about it. No, you don’t have to have a certain someone to enjoy the holiday. 🙂 I still loved it when I was single. Hubby will be on the road so he gave me three roses this weekend and we grilled with the boys. 🙂 I think we have had more Valentine’s away than together during our whole time together. At least with technology one can still feel like they are there. I will send him a snapchat tomorrow. 🙂 I do miss a tiny bit making Valentine’s for my kids’ classrooms. We made ours most of the time, except when we procrastinated and had to buy them. LOL  🙂

valentines-2012(Here is one I made when the boys’ had to make them. I did it in Illustrator. 🙂 )

Have a great day tomorrow! And the rest of the week, year etc! 🙂

Catch The Beat

music (Credit to Bing.com images)

The beat production software from Guitar center is a great item to have to put rhythm into your music. It has rhythmic music from all styles of music.

Examples:

  1. Pop
  2. Rock
  3. Techno
  4. etc.

Create the music you have dreamed of for years!

They say music eases anxiety! What a great fun way to do it! 🙂

The best part of this software, in my opinion, is it was inspired from the drum playing of the 80s and 90s! Yes, the best music ever! 🙂

There is a long list of features for this software. Very intriguing.

Check it out! Beat production software! 🙂

Do you play any instruments?

Having Fun With Paper

I have wanted to do quilling for a very long time now. I bought the beginning supplies at Hobby Lobby and then bought some boards and tools from an online quilling store. Quilling is making shapes with thin pieces of colored paper. It is done by curling the paper with a small tool. 🙂

A few weeks ago I sat in my living room and made my first item. It was fun and relaxing. I can’t wait to do some more projects with lots of different shapes.

I would like to sell a few once I get going with it. 🙂

20160521_161331This was the finished first item, a dragonfly. I love dragonflies.

20160529_012250

This is what I did with it. My hubby has lots of wood pieces from projects so I decided to put one to use. 🙂

This is sitting on our fireplace mantel. 🙂

I’ve been enjoying the small art projects this month. It is getting my creative juices flowing.

With the end of May brings June, I will dive back into editing my book for the final pass. 🙂 I wanted a break from it.

And I will also be continuing more fun art stuff!

Have a great last day of May! 🙂

Hugs And Kisses

Hugs Kisses

My new canvas art that is now hanging in our newly painted bedroom. I like it. It is teal and yellow paint. The circle and x is made out of a cool copper paper that I found at Hobby Lobby. I love feeling the crinkly paper! The & sign is a thick paper product found at Hobby Lobby. Painted it yellow and then decided to add some bling! I had the color glass for some time and decided to use it finally. I got to play with the glue gun and even burned my finger a few times. 🙂 Still fun.

The only ones to like it on Facebook was my dear sweet daughter and my friend Beth. They are nice people so not surprised they liked it. It was disappointing more didn’t. I guess what matters is I like it and hubby likes it. Or at least that is what he tells me. LOL

Sometimes I let things get to me or read too much into it. I guess when you see all your friends liking other people’s canvas art at those art parties and then they don’t yours it makes me wonder.

I think that is why I struggle with completing my book. I feel once I do and submit publish, no one is going to like it. I then bounce back to who cares? As long as I enjoyed writing it and a few people like it.

A daily struggle.

When will I ever quit caring? Do you struggle with people liking your creations whether it is writing or art? Or am I weird and lacking confidence? 🙂

A Day To Shop!

I had the urge to change my purse and billfold today so off shopping I went. The hubby tagged along. He is actually a good shopper. First stop was Hobby Lobby!

Dang, if I had all the extra money to spend without feeling guilty I would so spend half there and other half on books!

Love creating things. I bought some craft stuff and I will show later what I did with it. I did find a coin purse. I have looked on and off for one and never could find one.

20160319_182537 Cheap and fun. Love it.

Hubby even enjoyed looking around Hobby Lobby. He says once he finishes his man cave, we might both be in trouble with shopping in there. They have some models he likes to put together.

Next stop was the office supply store, Staples, right next door! I love this shop too.

I found a planner for my purse. It is part of the Arc label. When you put the refills in they are cut to grab around the binder rings instead of pulling them open. It is pretty cool. The guy showed me you can also mix and match planners by putting the front from one to the other. I will remember that for next year or when I decide I need another. LOL

The inside has a spot for bank cards and ID’s so no need for a wallet now. I didn’t buy the calendar insert but instead I bought a marked down pocket calendar and placed it in the clear pocket holder you see there. It has the diamonds on it. 🙂

The planner came with note paper and I bought the extra tab dividers to go in it. I love tab dividers! Now, if an idea hits me somewhere, I can write it down! Never fails I will be somewhere and get an idea and then forget it later.

I walked around and looked at all the neat stationary and pens.

I scored these! Only $4.00! Half off! Love sales!

20160319_182445 I think it will last me awhile. Maybe. 🙂

It has been a productive weekend thus far. I am waiting on my canvas art project to dry, but when it is done, I shall post a blog on that! 🙂

Have a great evening! 🙂

Dance, Music, Fun

In the beginning of my relationship with my hubby, we loved to go to dances that were held at the local Legion. It was a lot of fun. Yes, some drunk nights when we were younger. 🙂 I really loved dancing to the music. I have always loved to dance.

dance

In high school I was on the dance team and choreographed several of the routines throughout the four years I was on it. In fact, the crowds loved my routines and one they asked us to repeat so we did. Made me feel good. 🙂 Enough memory lane. lol

Back to the dances, the DJ they hired most of the time had a system that was a computer, monitor and of course the large speakers. It sounded great but can you imagine the time it took to set up. What happens if the computer decides to be weird? There goes your songs. There goes your money source for awhile.

music

Think back even further when the DJ had to haul around cassette tapes, records, and then CDs. Plus, the player that played them was usually bulky.

Now, there is a nifty little device called a cdj!  (Click the link to see this neat device)

The DJ can leave the computer and CDs at home! How cool! 🙂

If I DJ’ed, probably glad I don’t I would play 80s and 70s music over and over, I would invest in this nifty electronic!
