Me, playing around with my computer camera. Avoiding my to do list.

Love the filters on it. This was actually animated but I didn’t get it saved that what. I am still figuring things out. 🙂 This says I have yet to write my Christmas cards, so I am tossing them around in front of me to remind me. Yea, that works. LOL

December Is Flying By

Christmas 2014 ouside front (A few years ago)

I do believe December is flying by way too fast! Hope everyone had a great Christmas. We did! All four kids plus the two older ones brought their loves to spend Christmas Day with us. 🙂

Our family is growing! For me that was the best gift, because I know sometimes we won’t all be able to. Life gets busy and people scatter.

I received some great gifts. I love all gifts, from a thought to an expensive one. I do believe the thought ones stay with you way more than an expensive one. 🙂 Though hubby did surprise me with an expensive one this year, a new fridge. The other one was leaking, ruining our floor. It is now in the garage for drinks and extra food. It came in handy for the holiday. 🙂 So far, that fridge is not leaking out there. Go figure! LOL

Now, that brings us to the next holiday, New Years!

I was spending time online looking at one of my favorite music stores, Guitar Center, and came across the blue woodpecker. The name caught my eye. I even chuckled a bit.  What a gorgeous microphone!

Picture came to my mind of singing on New Years with that microphone. Do you ever daydream? I have some doozies. If I was having a party, been awhile, this microphone would be fabulous for karaoke. Do you like to karaoke? I usually have to have a few beers in me before getting in front of a crowd. I do have a couple of kids that love to sing. They would love this.

Whatever your plans are for the New Years, stay safe, have fun, and best wishes for you in 2017! 🙂

How’s your shopping going? I have only bought a few gifts. Always tight on money this time of year. Need to start in January with putting money aside, but there is always something that comes up.

I love Christmas for the family get together the most. Gifts are just a fun added plus. I never want anyone to over spend that puts them in debt. We have always been a family that spends with in the budget allowed. Some Christmas pasts have been pretty slim but they gave us lots of great family moments, which one can not put a price tag on.

Merry Christmas to All! 🙂

Happy shopping! 🙂

A Merry Christmas To All!

Christmas 2014 1I decided to do the lighted Christmas Tree I have been seeing online. I needed to do something in order to plug the lights upstairs in so it seemed like a perfect solution! 🙂 I added some of the boys ornaments they made the last few years.

Christmas 2014 decor - 2 This is why I did the tree. To continue the plug to the outlet downstairs. 🙂

Christmas 2014 7 This year I did this wreath from Christmas cards I have received the last few years. I like to send them and receive them. I have a few that send letters and photos but I have not decided yet what to do with the photos. Next year I will expand on this wreath. Thinking of wood underneath. Pondering that thought.

Christmas 2014 6Christmas 2014 3 Our lovely tree! Daylight and lighted. I love the twinkle of lights. We change the color of the tree every year. Last year was purple, this year browns. Thinking next year blues. 🙂

Outside lights. Hopefully add a little more next year. I have more stored away but didn’t take the time to go through them.

Simple this year. 🙂

I love decorating for the holidays. It will be sad when the blinking lights have to be packed away. I do decorate a little for the other holidays just not as grand.

Our holiday family time consists of hubby, me, and the kids. The days of our bigger family getting together has passed for quite some time. It is sad, but understand with everyone’s busy lives and distance. I do look forward to when our kids begin having families and then once again the big family will get together. We have threatened them that this will happen. LOL.

Our family tradition is a big crockpot full of chili soup on Christmas Eve. My grandma always did that. She made oyster soup too but we don’t care for that. Then for Christmas dinner it varies every year. I am thinking lasagna this year! Yum! It is making me hungry thinking about it.

We usually open gifts on Christmas Eve that each other gives. We try to be simple about the gifts. It gets way too expensive otherwise. But there are fun gifts and even some jokes in the mix. 🙂

Then on Christmas morning the stockings are opened! Filled with one main gift and lots of goodies!

What are your family traditions?

Merry Christmas! Thank you again for liking my blog and reading my ramblings!
