Just Another Day

I woke up to a bit of white fluffy snow. Not much though. I read one weather report about one inch and a half give or take. I guess it is winter time so it is to be expected. ๐Ÿ™‚

It is the bitter cold that I dislike. At least when I filled up my car, there was no wind so it didn’t feel as bad at 9 degrees out. LOL

I began the day watching a little Kitten Bowl on the Hallmark Channel. Love watching the cute little things. No, I don’t want anymore cats, two is enough. We did have three but one got out the door and never came home. Sure do miss him. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Our Super Bowl food for the day was making burritos. I also made some nachos with all the fixings. Yummy. Hubby made the lunch after seeing I wasn’t ready to make them yet. LOL

Hmmm, maybe wait long enough someone else will make the meals. Why is it the mom always has to make the meals? The million dollar question. ๐Ÿ™‚

It was a lazy day of visiting with hubby before he had to go back to work. He didn’t get to come home until late yesterday afternoon. In fact, I had to pick him up forty miles away. He is a truck driver and ran out of hours. Since they have the new mandated electronic logs, it runs out you stop. He could fudge a bit but then the boss man will get upset so we don’t want that. Not as easy to fudge like the paper logs. Sucks a bit. Congress needs to butt out.

The middle son decided to watch the Super Bowl so I heard it but I was playing on my phone trying to ignore it. ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m not a fan. Once in a while I will catch the half time show but that is about it. I was glad he was interested though instead of playing his video games.

Part way through the Super Bowl I had to take hubby back to his truck. Glad the roads were clear. I hate driving on it. Or rather I hate other cars driving on it because most like to still speed. Ugh.

There I say goodbye for another five or ten days, one never knows for sure until the end of the week. I never thought he would pick this career after retiring from the military. He enjoys it other than the being away and missing out on family stuff.

Hopefully, only a year or two more. Crossing fingers. I need to win the lottery! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  He bought me two lottery tickets for my birthday that he gave to me. Ya, we are big spenders! ๐Ÿ™‚ The thought that counts.

Do I have to share if I win since he bought them?ย  ๐Ÿ™‚

I will think about that. ๐Ÿ™‚

Instructions…What Are Those?

Last night I decided to make breakfast for supper. I had not done that in a while and wanted to use up some items. I had bought this neat little pancake flipper thingy and decided to finally use it. Do you ever do that, buy something and forget to use it? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Well, I did not read the instructions. Why it looked simple enough. Ya about that.

There is a fill line to follow. Duh. Needless to say the picture above is what happened. LOL

One big giant pancake with a lightly toasted appeal, as my boys tease me.ย  ๐Ÿ™‚

Mom win!

I did eat it. Didn’t taste bad just looked awful. LOL….Lots of syrup and butter! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Now, next time I hope my memory doesn’t fail me and I do it correctly.

Any mom wins out there by you?

Have a great day! Baseball games tonight for me! ๐Ÿ™‚

A – and A + + Art Day 2

tielia-and-i-1980ย Day 2 Challenge.

This is my best friend from grade school and high school. ๐Ÿ™‚ It is her birthday today! We were in 4th grade here. I’m the one without the hat. ๐Ÿ™‚ Seems like yesterday. lolย  I did the background on yellow cardstock and then used Bic markers to do the designs on the background. I love doodling. I posted this on her Facebook. ๐Ÿ™‚ We don’t see each other much nowadays, drifted apart, but we do still talk and care about each other. Great friend, fun friend. ๐Ÿ™‚

I dislike when someone takes the last bit of ice cream and leaves the container in the fridge. A certain young son of mine. lolย  Of course, I think there is still ice cream until I go to get some and it is empty. ๐Ÿ™‚

Watching when your child succeeds at something, no matter how small of an achievement. Love the smile on their faces. ๐Ÿ™‚

What is your – and + of life?

Did you know…

Lazy-Day-001 (my personal photo creation 2bcreative2013)

The first Friday of September is National Lazy Mom’s Day! Who knew? Not me until I did a search looking up September holidays. I was actually wanting to know the main holidays for a possible wall hanging project I want to do this month. I was surprised to find this “National” holiday. What an awesome one!

It brings up a question.
Can a mom actually be lazy for a whole day?
I mean really, there are too many things to be done in a mom’s schedule.

Who is going to cook? The local fast food place maybe.

Who is going to find that lost item that no one seems to be able to find? It seems mom is the only one who can really look for something.

Who is going to actually wipe the counters off when they spill that drink? I swear I am the only one who can wipe anything off. I have even tried, I say tried to wait out wiping it off hoping they would. I guess they don’t mind the messes. Sigh.

Who is going to refill that roll of toilet paper? It is such a difficult task but yet seems I am the only one that can take the bar off the holder, slip the new roll of toilet paper on, and put the bar back in the holder. Rocket Science! ๐Ÿ™‚

Who is going to do the grocery shopping? Hmm, that one might be one mom has to do all the time. If your family is like mine, they come home with everything but what you send them to the store for and the bill is 2x what it should be.

I am pretty fortunate that I have a super great hubby that will help me out, so I could be lazy if I wanted to be. It actually drives me batty if I am not doing something productive for the day which results in something done for the family. I may not go 100 miles an hour all day, but there is always some kind of cleaning to be done, or a task that needs done. I have decided that this holiday is really not a holiday unless….

If you take the point of view of “lazy” being our appearance, well then I have that one down pat! ๐Ÿ™‚

Do I wear makeup everyday? Heck no, why bother when no one sees you. Hubby don’t mind, he is stuck with me. ๐Ÿ™‚ It is a real treat when I do wear makeup and I get all kinds of compliments. I know how to play that one. Scare them most days and then bam, the next day beautify myself. ๐Ÿ™‚

Do I change clothes when I get up? Well, it is not unheard of to be in the afternoon before I finally do. The positive of not having to work outside of the home. I really get them the days I dress up, tons of compliments. If I did that everyday, they wouldn’t notice. ๐Ÿ™‚

Is it Lazy of me or just preparing them?

Do I make everyone breakfast in the morning? Heck no again. I have trained them well, they make their own or they starve. I’m not a chef. I’m lucky they eat my supper time meal. ๐Ÿ™‚

Do I cook a meal every night? No way. I have lazy times. Iย didn’t need no holiday to tell me to. I figure this way if they can cook a few fast meals, they won’t starve when they move out. There is always some kind of fruit in the fridge to eat so it is all balanced and good. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thisย proves I can’t be entirely lazy.

Do I make them clean their rooms every time? Well, I just can not go in without picking something up. I have tried the waiting game and it just gets under my skin to have a complete messy room. I owe that to my grandma, she always made sure I picked my room up. I was afraid of her. My kids are not afraid of me. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Do I make them do their own laundry? It depends. When they get into high school, I most definitely make them. It is not unheard of if they leave it in the dryer I will put the clothes away when they are at school. Think they know that? ๐Ÿ™‚ If the younger ones are at home when I decide to do laundry, I will have them sort it and bring it to the laundry room. I will put it away. Tried the put your laundry away and it ends up on the floor of the closet and gets rewashed. I can’t have that.

Not all is failed.

I do have help with the trash.

They do wash off their plates and put them in the dishwasher.

They do dress themselves.

Once in awhile they feed their pets but the cat litter is still up to me. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

They like to scoop snow, when we actually get some.

They do help unload the groceries.

For some reason, they love to vacuum. Now if only I could get them to dust. ๐Ÿ™‚

In conclusion, it is not entirely possible to be a lazy mom. Not me anyway. I think in honor of the holiday, I will not cook tonight. ๐Ÿ™‚

Can you be lazy and what kind of lazy?
