I Need Routine

Ok, I said I would blog more and well that did not happen. Yikes. I think most of it is just not sitting down and writing. Heck, I haven’t even read a novel in a long time. I love to read and write so this is not me.

Procrastination?

Nothing to write about?

Lazy?

Hell, I don’t know what the answer is. Do I really need to know the answer?

I even have a calendar that says to blog 2x a week. That sure hasn’t helped any.

I am thinking it is a combination of everything plus not making it a ROUTINE! I am definitely a person of routine.

So, routine here we come.

Well, right now I am going to get Chinese food! ๐Ÿ™‚

Have a lovely day!

My mind is currently thinking. LOL ๐Ÿ™‚

Seftonite…Type of Bloodstone

img_20190624_225747_800

I subscribe monthly to a rock box from Awakening In A Box. Love the stuff!

My collection is growing.

I like the feel of this one. Smooooth.ย  ๐Ÿ™‚

Each stone comes with a card with a description like above. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have a clue.

Bloodstone has the appearance of red specks which remind people of blood and was carried by warriors. They thought it would stop blood flowing from wounds. Superstition, but some of us like to believe in things like that.ย  ๐Ÿ™‚

I bought a book to read more about the rocks, gems, and crystals. The name is Crystals by Jennie Harding. Full of information.

Bloodstone is a member of the quartz family and it has a hardness of 7 which is suitable for carving. Mine is polished. The green isn’t as noticeable as the pictures in her book.ย  Mine is pretty dark.

Physical Properties

  • healing stone
  • stop hemorrhages
  • purify the blood, kidneys, bladder, intestines, and liver
  • beneficial to the heart and blood circulation
  • neutralize toxins and aid in their release

Mental/Emotional

  • calm our mind
  • remove confusion
  • revitalize us
  • enhance creativity and intuition
  • make decisions
  • strength
  • courage
  • avoid danger

Spiritual

  • eliminates negativity
  • aids clairvoyance
  • stimulates dreaming
  • admittance to spiritual realms of our ancestors

I would love if it did do all this. Wouldn’t it be amazing if stones could heal us? I like to believe in it.ย  ๐Ÿ™‚

I made this tonight for three of my kids. It was yummy!

img_20190624_225006_748

Buffalo Ranch Bombs, catchy name. Ingredients are Grand biscuits, shredded chicken, Buffalo Wild Wings seasoning, ranch seasoning, melted butter, cheddar cheese, and parsley. Two of the three kids loved them. The one wouldn’t even try them. I think next time I will make the chicken mix and put it in with noodles and do a noodle bake.ย  ๐Ÿ™‚

Have a splendid day!ย  ๐Ÿ™‚

Family Time

IMG_20180401_150303 This was our Easter dinner. I am definitely no chef. ๐Ÿ™‚ But the family doesn’t starve either. I say you don’t like it, there is the kitchen, fix it yourself. ๐Ÿ™‚ My boys are terrible at eating fruits and veggies. They eat them just not at every meal. I always offer them. I knew the hubby and daughter would eat them so that is what I mostly made. Yummy. I don’t feel horribly full either. Lots left to snack on tonight. ๐Ÿ™‚

Not everyone likes cooked ham so I made a roast beef and bought sliced ham and fried it. It was actually pretty tasty. It was a better ham too. It will make good sandwiches later. ๐Ÿ™‚

Everyone but one ate the deviled eggs. I don’t know what it is lately with deviled eggs but I usually have a catastrophe happen. At Christmas one batch didn’t get done because I chose a different pan to use than normally so I didn’t boil them long enough. Ugh. Then the next batch at Christmas didn’t taste right, didn’t use enough of one ingredient. Double ugh. Today, several eggs ended up with holes in them, but I told hubby later that the universe was telling me that I was making too many. LOL Hubby helped peel them which was a big help so I could cut and get the yolk ready to mix. They turned out good. ๐Ÿ™‚IMG_20180401_150500 Three of the kids were able to be here. Which is great. Missing the oldest son and his family. They are quite a ways away so totally understandable. He is getting ready for his first Navy deployment. Sad. I wish him all the best and for his family as well. Never a fun time leaving each other.

IMG_20180401_151535 We still like to give Easter candy plus a bit of money now that they are older. I put a twenty under their chocolate bunnies and the middle son was being goofy and knocked his out of the way and so the secret was out. Then they thought it was the only twenty because normally we do an Easter egg hunt with money in them. This year was tight on time because the daughter needed to get to work. I said next year. They were surprised when they moved their chocolate and they all had a twenty. ๐Ÿ™‚ Love having fun with them. ๐Ÿ™‚ I will continue until I can no longer. Just because they grow up doesn’t mean they don’t get to have any fun. ๐Ÿ˜‰

IMG_20180401_151326 Hubby eating his watermelon! LOL

Oh, the watermelon was sweet which surprised us being it is not in season yet.

It was a good afternoon! Glad we could eat together. One day we may not be able to, sad thought to think about. Take those moments when we can. Live for today. Have a great Easter blog land!

What to Eat?

My stomach is growling but I can not decide what to eat. I think my mind is on Spring Break with the boys. I normally don’t do so bad with eating when school is going on. I guess I need that routine as do they. I have plenty to fix just nothing sounds good. Then, I do the bad thing and go get something. Bad me. Maybe the problem is I don’t want to cook. I guess I am on Spring Break as well. ๐Ÿ™‚

I started out cooking at the beginning of the week. I even made the main meal at lunch time so the evenings were free to munch on what was in the cupboard or fridge. Then Wednesday hit, I got lazy, didn’t cook. Now, I’m on the end of Spring Beak and I’m still not wanting to cook. At least we chose mostly chicken and not so much hamburgers for eating out. Sigh.

I bet it also has to do with me sleeping more since I don’t have to get up. Yikes! What am I going to do when they fly the nest? Oh, ya, back to work because there won’t be any obstacles for jobs. ๐Ÿ™‚

Now, that I posted those pictures of past dishes I made, I am really hungry. I don’t have any of that to make. I did get pork chops yesterday to make today, but not feeling it.

I love to watch the Food channel, was hoping Chopped was on to inspire me, but it is the Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives which makes me want to go get something. LOL

Do you guys eat out a lot?

I try to keep it to once a week but I have really blown that one this week.

Have a great weekend!

Vacation Highlights

Last week I took a vacation from being on vacation the previous week. ๐Ÿ™‚ Isn’t that how it works sometimes? I did the minimum I had to do as a mom. I did catch up on laundry. I did not do much work on the computer though. Hubby had to go back to work but he said it was a relaxed week for him, if that’s possible truck driving. ๐Ÿ™‚

Our vacation was going to Charleston SC to see the oldest son’s family. They recently had a beautiful little boy named Jayce. ๐Ÿ™‚ We needed to see that precious baby. ๐Ÿ™‚ Oh, and the son and his wife too. ๐Ÿ™‚

Our other two sons and daughter joined us on the long road trip. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thank goodness for portable DVD player! They stayed busy watching movies. When you have tall kids and a hubby over 6 feet tall, many breaks were taken. I’m short, but I enjoyed the stretching of the legs too. ๐Ÿ™‚

IMG_20170808_144744

This is the recap of the fun week:

  • SaturdayBegan the trip. Stayed in TN. TN is a beautiful state. Definitely need a trip out there someday to sightsee. It had the most winding road through the mountains. The cars don’t slow down. Nerves galore!
  • SundayReached Shay’s place. Played with the new baby. ๐Ÿ™‚ Nice apartment complex. Beautiful area. Too much traffic for me. Roads were 5 lanes or more. Ugh.
  • MondayBeach Day! ๐Ÿ™‚ Hubby sadly had a migraine, he stayed back. Shay, Adric, and Farra in Shay’s car. Maniac driver! Cassie, Jessup, baby, and me in Cassie’s car. They lost us! But we got a better parking spot by the beach, speed doesn’t always win. ๐Ÿ™‚ Beach was great! Put up a tent for Cassie and baby Jayce. Wind was a bit of a challenge. Found lots of seashells. Shay had never ate down there so we decided to walk around the beach town. Adorable shops, good thing I was on a budget, no shopping for me. We ate at Washout! Live music was terrific.ย  Baby Jayce slept through it.ย  I had a salmon BLT, it was awesome! We had some ice cream afterwards. I switched places with Farra. She said no more riding with brother Shay. He was a little better with me but it still was scary. Dang sports car! ๐Ÿ™‚
  • TuesdayWe went sightseeing! This time the two younger boys didn’t want to go so they stayed at Shay’s. We saw the aquarium, walked through the Ft. Sumter museum, and then walked downtown Charleston. It was cool to see the old buildings. Loved it! Found a place to eat called Sticky Fingers. Yummy BBQ food. Hubby and I shared a plate. ๐Ÿ™‚ After we ate back to the apartment. Chilled. Played with baby Jayce. Cassie made Don a cake for his birthday, yummy. Great day.
  • Wednesday – Chill day. Kids found out they got their apartment in Virginia. We had pizza delivery and began packing up stuff in the U-Haul. More cuddles with baby Jayce. ๐Ÿ™‚
  • ThursdayPut the final things in the U-Haul. Shay and Jessup went ahead to get to the apartment complex office before it closed for some final paperwork. Don, the truck driver, drove the U-Haul. So, that left me to drive our car, oh boy, city traffic. Farra rode with me. Cassie, Adric, and baby Jayce in Cassie’s car. Oh, forgot, Farra and I had the ferrets in our car. The escape artists almost got out on us. LOL Cassie had the lizard. Yes they love pets of the different kind. LOL. We ate at Outback Steakhouse when we got to Virginia. Yummy.ย
  • IMG_20170808_151241
  • Friday – Unloaded the kids at their new apartment. The city seems nice. I’d drive there, 2 lane roads. ๐Ÿ™‚ Apartment is pretty nice, entryway could use an update. Sad we had to leave after unloading them. So sad. I need to win the lottery so we can visit more. We headed on our journey back home. Stayed in hotel in Kentucky.
  • SaturdayMore driving. Missing the kids. The other 3 slept most of the ride home. Arrived home around 8pm. Good to be home.

All in all, great week! ๐Ÿ™‚ Miss them 3 though. ๐Ÿ™‚

Book 1 Chapter 2

Oh, what a splitting headache.

I sat up slowly rubbing the back of my head trying to make it feel better. It wasn’t working, felt like a bad hangover. I looked around but I couldn’t see much in the small, dark room. Where the heck am I and who the heck hit me? Wait, I fell, but someone had grabbed me.

I hate dark places. I shivered thinking about what could be lurking in the corner. Like a dummy, I didn’t tell anyone what I was doing tonight. It is only Friday so no one will miss me until Monday morning when I should be opening the store. Mental note, make sure to leave a note on my kitchen table to where I venture off to next time.

I moved to my hands and knees and began to move along the floor. A foul smell was coming from my left side. Moving my hand around I touched something cold and smooth. I felt a latch. Leaning next to it to make sure no animal noises were inside. It would be the pits to have an animal jump out. No noise. I unhooked the latch, slowly opening the lid.

That’s worse than spoiled food!

I slammed the lid back down. Covered my nose and did my best to not be sick. A lovely symptom to add to my splitting headache, a true hangover without the fun beforehand. After the smell faded, I began crawling again. Felt a slight breeze on my face, maybe I am close to the doorway. Bumped into something in front of me. Decided to stand up feeling all the way up. Moved my hand to the right, a door knob.

Relief.

I turned it, unlocked. Opened the door slowly, trying to not make a creaky noise. Light and freedom, almost.

“I was hoping you would be waking up soon. I have supper all ready for us.” said the stranger, “Come join, before it is cold.”

He was tall, blue eyes, and dark brown hair. The most amazing eyes, I might add. The bluest of blue. Reminded me of the clearest ocean waters. I couldn’t stop staring at them.

untitledย (Just a photo off of Bing.com Gorgeous eyes!)

imagesu2vqs13nย ( I just had to add this one of McDreamy! He showed up in the search. LOL)

“Why was I shut up in there?” I asked staring at him.

He looked at me and smiled.

“It was not locked, was it?”

“Well, no. That isn’t the point.” I said getting irritated, “I remember falling down. Why am I here?”

He stood up from the table and began walking towards me. I stepped back reaching for the door knob behind me. I was thinking that I could at least put the door between me and him. He stopped, seeing that I was going to turn into the room I had come out of. He stared at me. I stared back. It seemed like an eternity went by. He let out the most annoying laugh, turned around, and sat back down at the table. I don’t like playing games. He is irritating the heck out of me despite his gorgeous looks.

“Well, I am famished. Stand there all night if you like, the food will get cold.” he said.

Night? So only a few hours have went by? Or has days gone by? Is anyone out looking for me? The biggest question, are we in Obeyville?

The food smells amazing and is making my tummy grumble. I do need my energy if I am going to get out of here. It would be smart to eat. I suppose if he poisons me, I will at least enjoy the food.

I cannot figure out why he is acting as though I am not a prisoner.

“If you sit down and eat, I will answer what is obviously asking in your pretty little head.” he said looking at me.

“I am only eating because skipping meals is not good.” I said as I plopped down in the chair across from him. He grinned still looking at me while placing the baked chicken on the steamy white rice on his plate.

I reached for the bowl of rice and put two big helpings on my plate, yes I like rice. Added the chicken on top just like his. The whole time he watched me. I hate that. I dove in savoring every bit of the meal. Oh, he can cook. The chicken had so much flavor and so moist. I closed my eyes and heard him chuckle.

“That good, huh?”

I glared at him.

“Just hungry. Don’t flatter yourself.”

Arrogant and good looking.

While enjoying the meal, I scanned the small cottage. There were a lot of photos of nature and no portrait ones. One photo had the most brilliant purple stone on a beach setting. It was dazzling.

largeย (credit to Bing.com images)

The place had small windows with lacy curtains, not typical of a man’s bachelor pad. Great, he is probably married and she is going to come through that door thinking we are having an affair. I glanced at his left hand, no ring and no tan line. Possibly, not married or doesn’t like jewelry. I know a few that do not wear their rings.

“No, I am not married.” He flashed his left hand at me. I believe my mouth dropped a few feet.

I looked away feeling embarrassed. I scanned the room some more. Next to my so-called dungeon, looks to beย a bedroom. This room is an open kitchen and living room design. In the front of the cottage by the front door is a bathroom. I could probably fit this entire house into my living and kitchen areas of my house. I feel trapped because I have no flipping clue where I am at. Woods? Another planet perhaps?

Through the windows the sun was going down. I could try to escape when it gets dark. Though I would not be able to see much of my surroundings, especially if we are out in the wooded area still. If I could get to the creek, I could try following it. It does run along the town edge.

Oh, where has he taken me? Hate being out of control. Did he follow me from my house?

“Do you know who I am?” I asked. I might as well be blunt and to the point. He may answer and he may not.

He laughed that arrogant laugh.

“You said you would answer my questions.”

Grinning, he reached for more rice. I grabbed the rice and set it down by my plate. He glared at me. It got his attention.

“Listen, I don’t like games. I want some answers.” I said angrily.

He stood up grabbing his plate and took it to the sink. I could see him scraping it off. Nice butt.

He set the plate down and turned towards me.

“You really do not remember me.” he spoke irritated.

A Merry Christmas To All!

Christmas 2014 1I decided to do the lighted Christmas Tree I have been seeing online.ย I needed to do something in order to plug the lights upstairs in so it seemed like a perfect solution! ๐Ÿ™‚ Iย added some of the boys ornaments they made the last few years.

Christmas 2014 decor - 2ย This is why I did the tree. To continue the plug to the outlet downstairs. ๐Ÿ™‚

Christmas 2014 made in 2013Christmas 2014 decor - 11Christmas 2014 decor - 12Theย frames Iย made last year.

Christmas 2014 7ย This year I did this wreath from Christmas cards I have received the last few years.ย I like toย send them and receive them.ย I have a few that send letters and photos but I have not decided yetย what to do with the photos. Next year I will expand on this wreath. Thinking of wood underneath. Pondering that thought.

Christmas 2014 6Christmas 2014 3ย Our lovely tree!ย Daylight and lighted. I love the twinkle of lights. We change the color of the tree every year. Last year was purple, this year browns. Thinking next year blues. ๐Ÿ™‚

I have a total of four trees this year.

Outside lights. Hopefully add a little more next year.ย I have more stored away but didn’t take the time to go through them.

Simple this year. ๐Ÿ™‚

I love decorating for the holidays. It will be sad when the blinking lights have to be packed away. I do decorate a little for the other holidays just not as grand.

Our holiday family time consists of hubby, me, and the kids. The days of our bigger family getting together has passed for quite some time. It is sad, but understand with everyone’s busy lives and distance. I do look forward to when our kids begin having families and then once again the big family will get together. We have threatened them that this will happen. LOL.

Our family tradition is a big crockpot full of chili soup on Christmas Eve. My grandma always did that. She made oyster soup too but we don’t care for that. Then for Christmas dinner it varies every year. I am thinking lasagna this year! Yum! It is making me hungry thinking about it.

We usually open gifts on Christmas Eve that each other gives. We try to be simple about the gifts. It gets way too expensive otherwise. But there are fun gifts and even some jokes in the mix. ๐Ÿ™‚

Then on Christmas morning the stockings are opened! Filled with one main gift and lots of goodies!

What are your family traditions?

Merry Christmas! Thank you again for liking my blog and reading my ramblings!
