No Write May

The title says it all! I completely failed to blog or write all month so I have to write this one today. ๐Ÿ™‚ LOL

Every month I print out my Google calendar and it has stuff to do all month. Or rather stuff I would like to accomplish all month. ๐Ÿ™‚ I still love paper and pen and markers. ๐Ÿ™‚ It also goes to my phone of course, Google, you know. ๐Ÿ™‚ Well, there is not a lot of marking on it. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Maybe I can justify it with being outside more. Maybe. I did plant flowers but half are already dead. No green thumb here! I do have a neat deck to sit on and have done that more. We are working on our fire pit area which have not used. Dang it. Add that to the list, need to make smores!

I see by my yellow highlights that I only cooked at home half the month. That is not good. In defense on that, we did travel a bit so the weekends we were eating out more. The school week was ok, normally eat out once. ๐Ÿ™‚ I can come up with so many excuses! ๐Ÿ™‚

I did win my step challenge this month and ahead of schedule! I was exercising! The scale doesn’t say it but I feel good. ๐Ÿ™‚

My car decided to break, minor break, but still cost money. It is still a good car. I won’t bash it yet. ๐Ÿ™‚

I did make the six-year mark for blogging this month! Yay me! ๐Ÿ™‚ Like, every month, I pledge to blog more! Hope everyone has a great month of June! It has already hit high 90’s here, ugh. I think Spring is no longer a season for here. Double ugh.

Cheers to your June! ๐Ÿ™‚

Pondering More Changes

I have been busy with house and kid stuff lately so not much writing going on. Last weekend hubby and I painted and cleaned up the laundry room. It looks so much better. Here is a before picture. Hubby began painting.

20160227_154621It is rather narrow. The previous owners had spot painted where marks were and the paint did not match. It was a bit annoying to look at. Now it is a cool very light green. The color brightened it up from the tan! We had a wire shelf on the left side that got in the way of TALL people. LOL. Hubby kept hitting his head on it when he used the dryer. I didn’t have much problem though but it is nice having it gone.ย  Now, there is a nice shelf above the washer and dryer and we bought a pantry for all other items. I want to put my brooms and such in it but I can not get the pegs to come out to move the shelves. I need my he man hubby to do it. ๐Ÿ™‚

I have not finished with the decorating so no finished picture but I will post when I get it done.

Also, in order for the washer and dryer to fit we needed to take out the trim work so we replaced it with nice white trim leading up to the appliances with a wooden end. It looks awesome! Picture to come soon!

My pondering mind has led me to finally delete my Facebook page. No one really read it and I stayed at the same numbers for years. I can utilize my time better actually writing. LOL. Where is that motivation? ๐Ÿ™‚ It really is the pits that Facebook wants you to pay in order for all people to see it. I rather enjoy Twitter and Google+. I will concentrate more there. ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh Forgetful One

blog list AprilMy newest idea is to tape my short list inside my Nook. I don’t know why I didn’t think of that before. ๐Ÿ™‚ I open my Nook everyday whether for reading orย using other Apps. I think that will work. Right? Who am I kidding I am the queen of procrastination.

I really try to keep myself productive during the day since I do not work outside of the home. I like to make lists because as I cross them off I feel like I have accomplished something. A bit of a mind game with myself. It helps to keep me on track. When it works. ๐Ÿ™‚

I have a calendar in Google with everyday tasks and print it out weekly. I don’t always follow it in the order it is listed. I definitely don’t accomplish all the tasks. Why the heck do I keep making them?

I think it makes me feel like I am working. I had a calendar at work, when I was working,ย that kept track of deadlines so I guess that is why I still make them.

I know if I didn’t put certain tasks or events on it I would definitely forget them. It has happened on occasion.

Recently I was busy doing research online and completely forgot to pick up my son from school!

If my google calendar had not sent me the text my son would have walked all the way home. Thank goodness it was a nice day and he had headed this way.

Of course, when I reached him he gave me a difficult time. ๐Ÿ™‚ If we lived closer to the school, I wouldn’t mind him walking but it is quite a hike. Plus, it gets me out of the house and breaks the routine of the day to go pick him up. ๐Ÿ™‚

I have on my Google calendar when to write, blog, clean, errands, art, emails, bills, and the biggest one I forget to do EXERCISE! ๐Ÿ™‚ Hmm maybe that is more being lazy. I do like to exercise I just don’t seem to accomplish that one as often as I should. I am a creature of habit so I need to make it a habit.

Guess what I do with each sheet printed? Trash? Keep?

Yes, I three hole punch each week and it is nicely put in a notebook. I’m weird. ๐Ÿ™‚ It actually comes back to that forgetful thing. I can look up a certain day and know a bit of what I did. I also write on it when I take my blood pressure pills, etc. It has many purposes.

It has been handy if I need to look back on those daysย if someone has a question about something on one of the days.

When I was in myย teenage years and even twenties I could recall almost anythingย without ever writing it down.ย  Miss that. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

One good thing, gives me reason to buy lots of neat post-it notes and play with templates for calendars on the computer. ๐Ÿ™‚

Do you have to keep track of tasks and notes? Is your memory still as sharp as a whipper snapper? (My grandma use to say that)
