The first room was a large room and we made it into 2 rooms, one a bedroom and a bonus room. I’ll have to take some pictures when we go back. Missed taking them when done. Find some regular picts?
The backyard when hubby and his brother put up the fence. The two houses are gone behind the fence. They finally tore down. The two photos with the insulation and junk is now inside and a laundry room. Will find those.
It’s a 100-year-old house, two houses put together. I believe it was a shop house before someone lived in it. In fact, as a kid walking by a man would sit in his chair and wave to me. Nice person. He later died in the house and someone else moved in and began to fix it. I don’t think I ever told the kids that. Shh.
The green room became the oldest kid, daughter, is the room below the fence picture above. Then it became the youngest son. Painted it for him. lol

The blue room is actually the covered carport and became the second kid, son’s room. Then after him the third kids got it. We tore up the carpet because it was very dirty and were planning on different covering. That’s the youngest grown now son. I think he was a sophomore in the picture?
It was the only room completely finished before we tore it up. lol
I have so many pictures to sort thru. I think that is why I get bored, we have always been busy remodeling.
Yesterday, I wrapped packages! First since 2020 stroke. Tape was really fun, lol. The little pkg wasn’t so easy to do. But the flat pkgs were fun, my hand could hold the paper so I could wrap.
Good exercise for my hands and sticking my tongue out, lol.
I had to get the paper in the basement, so steps going down and I decided to do the weights. Played with the cats and gave them a treat.
I guess I dialed my youngest kid and didn’t realize it, side pocket dial. I could hear a voice say hello but thought I was hearing things. lol My phone is getting touchy. Deleted all apps til I am better. Except Instagram.
Ninja and Emo. I can’t wait to take care of them fully. I’m very thankful for hubby doing it but he doesn’t like them. He was always gone so it didn’t bother him that they were here but he knows I love them so he won’t get rid of them even though I was in tears and said I would be ok if he did. Good hubby, but they will be our last ones.
This is in the library, I love this. I’ve done very little this year because hubby is a worry wart and feels I will fall, or the cats will trip me. I just go slow and watch for the cats, so now I am trying to do it every day. Right now, just the weight of the bars and leg thingy. It’s more to move my arms and legs. Will add weight later as I feel I should.
I used it more in the beginning before I got sick with my teeth last year, hubby would take me down. Getting sick takes a lot out of me. If I don’t move around, walk, stretch, simple exercises not aerobic but easy stuff my body gets unmovable. It must move! The stroke recovery is a weird thing. I can’t go backwards must move forward in recovery. Slow moving is a must.
It’s like I can’t just lay in bed or on the couch, must get up and move. I can’t wait til I move at least as fast as a rabbit and not like a turtle. lol
I try to do 30 reps of arms and 30 reps legs. It doesn’t seem like much, but a stroke makes you tired, extreme fatigue. I hate it. I wish I had never complained before the stroke.
I do 10 mins on this, sometimes I’ll do more if I have a burst of energy.
My little bike, lol, I use this 10 mins sometimes more. Just depends on what I do on the other things.
The treadmill in the back, granddaughter and hubby. 🙂 I use it mostly when I can’t go outside or do no walking around the house. 1000 steps at a time. Last week I did 3000 steps one day, full of energy. Then somedays I do laundry, go downstairs, etc. We have a flight of stairs up to Jessup’s room. Another flight going downstairs so lots of moving around.
Laundry is quite the exercise! I can’t hold a lot of clothes or towels so takes many trips which is steps!
I have hand weights and squeeze balls, so I do keep busy but sometimes that ugly procrastination creeps up.
I did love my therapy at the center downtown, but my teeth got in the way and had to stop. Sad face. It made me lose energy to go and don’t drive yet so it was an added problem. But I learned a lot in the short time I was there and try to do it at home. It got expensive for our budget also. Plus, I was not liking the cold, even in the heat, crazy. My temperature was out of wack for a year. So much better this year, feel normal. I tell you a stroke has been quite the experience. Don’t wish it on anyone.
Wearing jeans are getting easier, thank goodness. I love jeans. I’m a jean and t-shirt lady, it’s what I wore everyday before the stroke. I have 2 pairs, and another pair that fits but I didn’t realize it is the skinny jean kind. Fits but difficult to pull up and down with one arm mostly. So later I will wear them. 🙂
Summer time was even worse because I would be sweating and well that makes pants difficult. lol So, I mostly wore shorts which I do like. This year wasn’t as bad with being cold, back to my normal temperature, so shorts were the best. The first year of my stroke, I was so cold all time, perhaps due to circulation?
Even in the heat. I covered up with blankets a lot of the time and didn’t want the A/C on. But this year was more normal for me, yay, and everyone else. lol
The daughter bought several sweatpants and leggings so that was a great help. She said, I love to shop so let me spend it on you.
AH. It took a load off our minds.
But glad to say they are getting a little tight. Gaining back my weight. Was 190, then the stroke took me down to 150, and then my teeth problems I went to 120, I hadn’t been that small since early high school. Now I’m back to 150 the weight after my first kid and last kid. I gained all on my own glad to be back in the middle.
Just need to be able to do exercises and weights to build up the muscle. Due time, right, patience.
I have weights in the basement, so it’s patiently waiting for me to use them. I should have been doing them on a regular basis then maybe I wouldn’t have been in this spot. Sadly, only used like once a week here and there, thought my running around was a enough. Nope.
I went from being outside, volleyball, dance team, golf, and softball so regular movement. My 20s working several jobs, then chasing two young ones, and constantly activities with friends and family. My 30s two more kids and two teenagers working full time job and part time job. My 40s two boys active and two adult kids, chasing them but didn’t work, only at home and not really having friends other than the computer. I should have filled my extra time with exercise 3 times a week, think that would have helped.
So, people stay active! Don’t think just running around does the trick.
Eating healthy just isn’t enough. My heart is in good health, not the problem, veins are good, not the problem, BLOOD PRESSURE is what gave me the stroke.
Basically move, eat healthy, sleep 8 hours, and drink water.
I’m not the best at eating since I lost my teeth but we sure are trying. Fake teeth are getting better but I tend to eat more with the gums. Soft food which has changed my food habits. Still eat hamburgers but smaller and less toppings. Still drink a pop but greatly downsized and some days not at all. I’ve grown to love oatmeal, a few veggies than before and liking some fizzy drinks instead of pop. Good things have changed me not just the bad. 🙂

Hubby getting tired of constructing for me. Don’t blame him, lol.
I brought my TBR books downstairs in my big bag. Only have what I am reading in the bedroom. Cleaning and organizing. At least that part of me is coming back just have to have help. Hubby, daughter, and Jessup usually help, if I can talk them into it. 🙂 It’s also a workout for my right stroke arm and walking.
Also, will have this room as exercising. There is already an arm and leg machine. I use it some. Once I get fully back to mostly normal move the treadmill will be back down there and my elliptical machine. I’m the only one that really uses the basement anymore. My two cats are down there, making some fun climbing stuff for them. 🙂

We are going to remove them and recycle them somewhere for something. He did a great job on them, good wood.
