No Write May

The title says it all! I completely failed to blog or write all month so I have to write this one today. 🙂 LOL

Every month I print out my Google calendar and it has stuff to do all month. Or rather stuff I would like to accomplish all month. 🙂 I still love paper and pen and markers. 🙂 It also goes to my phone of course, Google, you know. 🙂 Well, there is not a lot of marking on it. 😦

Maybe I can justify it with being outside more. Maybe. I did plant flowers but half are already dead. No green thumb here! I do have a neat deck to sit on and have done that more. We are working on our fire pit area which have not used. Dang it. Add that to the list, need to make smores!

I see by my yellow highlights that I only cooked at home half the month. That is not good. In defense on that, we did travel a bit so the weekends we were eating out more. The school week was ok, normally eat out once. 🙂 I can come up with so many excuses! 🙂

I did win my step challenge this month and ahead of schedule! I was exercising! The scale doesn’t say it but I feel good. 🙂

My car decided to break, minor break, but still cost money. It is still a good car. I won’t bash it yet. 🙂

I did make the six-year mark for blogging this month! Yay me! 🙂 Like, every month, I pledge to blog more! Hope everyone has a great month of June! It has already hit high 90’s here, ugh. I think Spring is no longer a season for here. Double ugh.

Having Fun With Paper

I have wanted to do quilling for a very long time now. I bought the beginning supplies at Hobby Lobby and then bought some boards and tools from an online quilling store. Quilling is making shapes with thin pieces of colored paper. It is done by curling the paper with a small tool. 🙂

A few weeks ago I sat in my living room and made my first item. It was fun and relaxing. I can’t wait to do some more projects with lots of different shapes.

I would like to sell a few once I get going with it. 🙂

I’ve been enjoying the small art projects this month. It is getting my creative juices flowing.

With the end of May brings June, I will dive back into editing my book for the final pass. 🙂 I wanted a break from it.

And I will also be continuing more fun art stuff!

Spring Time Changes

I have stayed busy and consistent with editing every day for Camp NaNo! Makes me feel great! 🙂 I know another edit will need to be done after this challenge because there are some boring holes to fill. Oops.

I feel confident! I am energized to get er done! 🙂

I updated my blog as you can see. I think I really like it. It is clean and easy to read. I can change the colors easy as well. The header proved a challenge with my blog title but I finally found one. I think I will make me some for the next update now that I have my Illustrator program back. I love that Adobe does monthly subscriptions now. Though it does stink to pay for one program for almost the same price for the whole set but my computer graphics card can’t handle it. I do need to learn lots more on Illustrator so that is ok. I do miss Photoshop but maybe once I can upgrade the graphics then I can get all the programs again.

I did something I thought I would never do, I deactivated Facebook. I thought if I am going to get my HUGE list of things done I better do it. I feel rather good about it. I doubt I am missed. I didn’t have much interaction from people. I will miss other people’s updates but I must get things done. It was easy to pass an hour or two reading everyone’s. LOL.

I can hear “Lazy” the cat meowing so I better get out of the Creative Cave and give him some attention! I don’t allow the cats in here and it bothers them. Too much to knock over and “Emobear” loves to chew on PAPER! Go figure! LOL. My tummy is growling.

I Love Pens!

I am a pen hoarder! I love writing on paper. I like the look and the privacy of putting pen to paper. One does not have to worry about a hacker getting important information like when using the computer. Might have to worry about the cat eating the paper. Yes, I have a cat that loves chewing on paper, Emo. It is crazy. Maybe he thinks he is a dog. 🙂

I love looking at pens on different websites and in stores. I have pens of all types and colors, including the ink and the outside of the pen. I came across a great pen selection at PenFactory.com. It has me thinking I could use some pens with my business name and website on them.

I once worked for a grocery store as a secretary. I would order our pens like this as a way to advertise. Why not? Sometimes I end up with an extra pen from a business that I did not mean to take. 🙂  OOPs. Whenever I used the pen again I would remember the business and go back shopping. One reason to order pens with your business on it. And it is cool to see your name on something. 🙂

If you think about the cost of advertising, it is pretty reasonable to order a sizable amount of pens. Plus, you get a cool pen to add to your collection! 😉 I have had good luck with promotional pens, they write well. 🙂

I’m thinking of going with the twist promotional pens. If I get the clicking ones, I irritate myself by clicking the top when I’m thinking. 😉
