Reviews

It’s the pits to get reviews on any site. I don’t have many sold but the ones I have don’t use reviews. Bummer but glad for people reading my book. Makes me wonder if I don’t review enough. I’ve gotten better but not always good writing reviews but at least i write something.

Playing with the settings on the writing tool. :0

it will be nice to type with both hands, at least i hope it happens. i am getting good typing with one hand just not capitalizing it. lol i get lazy typing. i was a fast typist. i was good in typewriter class, showing my age now. lol i loved that class. I had a typewriter the old kind and I had an electric one. Still have it but can’t get ribbons anymore. Amazing how things have changed.

Photo by cottonbro on Pexels.com mine was like this.

The photo image didn’t know what a wordprocesser was. I had one of those. I will look for it when we go back home. it would show up on a small screen what I typed. But it was similar to a typewriter. Computers were for people who were rich or high intelligence in the job. it took a while for my family to use computers at home. Grandpa taught himself at work, parts manager. He was mad a lot learning it. lol I only learned at school. I didn’t get one till late 20s and it was used and slow. lol A lot has changed.

When did you get your first computer?

Mumble Talking

The short story. See if this is big enough. Write some words today. What will I write? One handed because two does not work well and that is ok for now. I am wearing my teeth on top. A bit of saliva. My eyesight is blurry. That makes things better. Text is bigger. I do not remember too much about a laptop because I was using a mouse for a long time before. Lots of changes to word. Must figure it all out again. See if this will help on the floor. I cannot type with two, sucks. Sitting on the floor with the laptop between my legs. Butt is still not big enough, it is skinny, so it is a little uncomfortable. Think I can get 500 words. A need a story. Think of one. I like that it capitalizes my words for me. I am eating a bologna sandwich. Yum. And a glass of milk. I am a slop eating with my teeth. It is only the top teeth. The bottom ones do not fit, they move while eating. We must get the denture fix stuff, it worked great on the top. But it costs and must wait a bit, that is ok. My top is ok, plus I eat a lot with no teeth. I have learned to gum stuff to death. Lol I hope I can transfer this to my blog wish word worked with it. Using one hand has its downfalls. And my nose runs so I have that obstacle. I might sit outside and read my friend’s e-book. Sounds like a plan.

I almost have the book done, reading that is. Been emotional the last two days, just the stupid stroke. Doctors said that would happen. But it is better than last summer, progress.

Fairy Garden

My son Shay, wife Cassie and grandson Jayce gave me this for Mother’s Day
This is another garden with fairy stuff. I have fairies, door, and a house with trees and such.

I have a few items on the porch but need to get a pot to decorate, so photos later. I love decorating with these. I’m not so good with flowers so fairy gardens are the next best thing. πŸ™‚ I have to put them in containers and such because the men will mow them over if I don’t. lol

I want to put fairies in one of my stories but need to think of it first. Ghosts and fairies are interesting to me. Things made up. Right now my mind is blank thanks to the stroke. So I am reading as much as I can to get the creative dreams going. I use to daydream all the time and my stories would come alive! I’m so anxious to get back to typing and handwriting with left and right hand. πŸ™‚

I’ve started a journal again thanks to my daughter of course more small words because my left hand is messy. But glad that I can write! Hopefully, I will remember what I meant by the shorthand. lol May make a funny story lol.

I was glad I wrote my first book before the stroke, but I put it away because I didn’t think it was good.

  1. Obeyville Snoop – I like it so that’s what made me happy. Published Sept 2021
  2. Snoop in Overdrive – not done, mind block, 10 chpters done for now
  3. no title and no idea last of the series.
actual book
this is the cover I designed when I had my software and was studying graphic design.

The stroke took a few things away, memory, thinking, money, etc

I will get it back! I want to.

Where Did October Go?

It’s a bit early in the morning but I really wanted to get a blog post out. I can’t believe I went almost all month without a post.

I even missed some posts that my daughter put on her blog. I did reblog them on here so please take a second to read them. She is a really good writer. Very creative. My daughter and granddaughter moved out last month.

I have had more time to write with the daughter and granddaughter not around, so I should have accomplished way more writing. Sigh. Procrastinating.

The last child in the family is a senior and unfortunately that has not been going well. He just isn’t feeling the school vibe with all the Covid guidelines. The school has been good though and they have let his many skips of school be excused. He is doing average work when he would be doing A-B work if the school year had ended normally and then begun normally. He shows a bit of depression. πŸ™

I feel for everyone that has had their life totally or mildly changed. It is so weird to think how life has changed this year. I am thankful all of us have been in good health and jobs have been decent. Slow at times but at least we have jobs.

I keep telling myself that I am not going to write anything about Covid since everyone is most likely tired of hearing about it but here I am. I don’t think it will ever go away. A virus is like a bad stain on your clothes, it can fade, but it’s not disappearing. At least, that’s my thoughts on it. I hope it will disappear. Will it?

The son has been quarantined once during the school year just out of caution. He didn’t go anywhere and was good about staying “6 feet” away from us. His niece didn’t understand why uncle would not pick her up. So then he would run around and she thought it was a game of chase. LOL He never had symptoms so we didn’t get him tested. He went back to school after the 14 days and 16 days for work.

I am keeping plenty of vitamin C around for everyone. Hubby and I are taking vitamin D because we both have had blood tests in the past that showed low. Mostly, just making sure our immune systems are in shape. We do that as much as we can every flu season. I think now it will be all year every year. I hope the four kids will keep their immune systems in good shape. I can at least nag them. πŸ™‚

Sadly, this has prevented the oldest son, his wife, and son from being able to come visit. He is in the Navy and they keep denying him leave. He sounds like he needs a break. Of course, we miss them a lot. It has been over a year since we saw them.

The daughter and granddaughter are only a few hours away so we have seen them several times since they moved. Yay! πŸ™‚

The 2020 graduate son is living with us. His plans are a bit on hold. I mean with the unknown of what the state government could do any day, it is better to stay with us. At least he has a roof over his head and food in his tummy. I’m sure he would rather be having adult life with his friends and not held up in his parents’ house. LOL πŸ™‚ He is pondering joining the military just like his brother and sister. I’m not sure about that but it is his choice. πŸ™

The current senior has decided to graduate early in January, thanks to all the unsocial fun in school now. I have even heard him say maybe he will wait on college. I never thought I would hear that from him.

I think college is good if you really want it. I also think working a few years after high school is ok as well. I like the trade school option too. As you can see we have two already in the military. One joined during her senior year and then she went to school. She is in the Army Reserves and doing well. She has her Associates and a Bachelor’s Degree. The oldest son went a year of college, hated it. Worked for a few years and decided he wanted to do join the Navy. He got into the Nuclear Program, very intense school and made it through. Now, the third son is thinking Marines. I guess we might just have a kid in every branch. LOL The fourth child really wants college, or at least before all this ‘new normal’ happened. Time will tell.

I don’t know what I will do when they are all out of the house. Might start talking to the cats….wait, I already do that. πŸ™‚

Have a great Halloween weekend!

Lots of Changes

The senior son had his first full of week of school. It went well, no issues. It sucks though because he has to wear a mask there and then the days he goes to work. Makes for long days of covering the mouth. I’ve been getting him good drinks to make up for the fruits and veggies he won’t eat. Sigh. Hopefully, he will change that on his own because the other two older kids did. They like more veggies than I do.

I think I’m the bad influence.

I grew up eating simple veggies. My grandma was a cook for the old folks home and a school. We had all homemade food but it was simple and no seasonings. I liked it. I didn’t eat many veggies other than the basics but I was a fruit eater. I reached for fruit back then instead of junk food. Now, I tend to like the candy bars and other convenience items.

Bad mom.

It is sad that the school has to provide more bag lunch meals though. So he has been coming home to eat or eating out with his friends. I understand why they have to with guidelines. I would rather him be able to go to school.

The son that graduated or rather e-graduated lives with us, at least until the world is back to normal. I hope. We got him a new cellphone for his birthday and I am so over this closed store thing. We had to order through the phone and online. It also happened when the senior son’s phone completely broke and we needed to get him a new phone. I hate that, we miss our friendly store employee that always helps us. πŸ™‚ The phone person was very nice but it just isn’t the same. The website was having problems as well. Just want the store completely open. Then they didn’t have the phone in stock so we couldn’t pick it up and now is being mailed.

Just one thing after another. It is easier to go to the store. I hope no other phones have issues for awhile. I swear the phones break when they are done being paid on. I usually get another year out of mine, as long as I don’t drop it. πŸ™‚ I am going to go for hopefully a few years. I swear at times I would rather have a non-smartphone. Less distraction? I prefer using the internet on my computer and not the phone. I have a bad habit anymore checking my phone just because. Crazy. I need to keep my hands busy I guess. LOL

I hope everyone had a good last week! Sounds like some areas might get SNOW next week. WOW!

My Shopping Is Changing

I don’t really shop a lot but it definitely has changed this year thanks to wearing the mask. I don’t like them. I swear I sweat and itch too much. I try that don’t think about it but it doesn’t work. So, no more grocery shopping but a week to every two weeks. I’m not an online shopper but now may have to do some that way. I do go through drive thrus a lot for food. I hope to go to the movies once new ones come out because I feel like this is going to ruin their business. πŸ™ I don’t have to wear it while watching because I can’t go without popcorn and a pop! πŸ™‚

If anything, I should save money! Which that will be a great thing! πŸ™‚ Just hope things go back to normal.

I feel sorry for the kids going to school. I do believe they need to, so mask it is. I have one left and he has been working all this time so he should be ok wearing the mask. But then again, he is a teenager. LOL I just see no fun going. I guess welcome to him on early adult life! Life isn’t always fun. LOL

I hope everyone stays healthy! πŸ™‚

Back…I think

I have no excuse for not blogging other than not doing it. πŸ™‚ I did let my site go back to the free version, so I had to redesign it. I like the new design. I see there are some new features if a paying account. I will ponder that for awhile if I finish the year strong. πŸ™‚

I still miss the check spelling and english button. πŸ™

The son did graduate in May. The school only did an online ceremony which was good but I think they could have done a regular ceremony after seeing several friends’ kids having one. πŸ™ Now, we have another senior and so hope he gets one. He was going to do the online learning until they showed what classes were offered. He was disappointed but switched to going to the school. He doesn’t fear the virus because he has been working the whole time other than a month and they take his temperature every time, but he had hoped for the online since it sounds like little socializing at school. πŸ™

I still do not know anyone who has had it. I hope it stays that way. πŸ™‚

The son that graduated stayed with his job until about June and then quit because there was a kid he worked mainly with that was not nice to him. He wished he wasn’t like that because he misses the job a bit. Maybe things worked out because his car has quit and would have been difficult to get him to the job because it was 30 minutes away. He has been helping me out and chilling until hopefully this virus slows down and then find a job. He gets anxiety with wearing the mask. He has allergies so sneezes a lot which isn’t a good thing right now. LOL He won’t take any medicine. Which is good because he doesn’t like pills but yet he would feel better if he did, perhaps. LOL

I have been busy watching the granddaughter when the daughter goes to work. I forget how much a toddler wears me out. I just don’t have the energy now to do it ALL. LOL I am amazed how I did it in my 20s and 30s. πŸ™‚ The daughter has met a very nice man who I think may be the one! He is really nice and polite. Win Win. πŸ™‚

Hubby is still truck driving but definitely is counting down the days to retire, 2 years! πŸ™‚ I’m counting the days as well. Ready for him to be home all the time! πŸ™‚

Our 3 1/2 year old refrigerator broke this week. Sucks. So we got to decide on a new one. Just sucks that it has to go to the appliance graveyard. We all liked it. πŸ™‚ It was a challenge this week with me watching the granddaughter 24/7 since her mom had her Army AT. Both boys helped a lot with trying to figure out the problem and cleaning out all the WASTED food! πŸ™ Needless to say we ate out a lot but we do more than normal now since this virus has showed it’s ugly face. We do have our old fridge downstairs and the repairman got it to not leak anymore. Yay! But the hubby and son said no way they are hauling it upstairs again! LOL It is heavy and the stairs are not straight up, they are a challenge. We do like having that one down there for drinks and over flow of food. πŸ™‚

We haven’t done anything this summer since the virus. We really missed not being able to see the oldest son and his family in May. He says he may get to come here for Christmas. Cross fingers! πŸ™‚

I hope everyone is healthy! Have a good weekend!

Same Ole Day

This whole virus thing is definitely crazy. It hasn’t been real different for us. We normally stay home. Now, if the restaurants are completely shut down that will be a whole different story. We tend to eat out for entertainment. Not everyday but we do get ice cream, drinks, and the occasional meal. It will affect my daughter’s employment. She has her hours cut currently but still holding a job. The younger son who works with her unfortunately was laid off. We try to eat out still to help out the businesses but we can’t do too much in case hubby’s hours get cut. So far he is doing ok because he is a truck driver, but not in the food industry. Our son that is suppose to graduate this year landed a job helping the mechanic at hubby’s place of employment. The place is along the interstate by no where else so they should be fine with no spreading, hopefully. The son has enjoyed not having school because he has been able to work more than Saturdays.

I am sad he can’t finish out his senior year at school. Our state closed for the rest of this school year. Bummed. He isn’t sad about prom because he didn’t go last year and wasn’t planning on it this year. His brother that is a junior is sad because he has a date who already has her dress. Sad. Knowing my creative and bored junior he will come up with some way to still have prom. πŸ™‚ Just low numbers, which their group of friends would make the 10 and under. Maybe outside? Grill party in fancy dresses? Ideas are endless.

The boys start elearning April 1st. Not too sure about this. Nothing against the teachers, just my kids. They may not listen to me about appearing for checkins. I believe they will get the work done just not the rest of requirements. Sigh. The senior kid really needs teacher in person. He is not an online learner, textbook all the way. Needless to say the laptop for him is not useful or been used much. But we will give it a try! Another sad note, both my boys had hands on learning classes that they will miss. It definitely won’t be fun online because they are already saying no to watching videos of the stuff, even though they watch 100s of YouTube videos. Stubborn kids. We will figure it out.

This of course hasn’t changed much for me for working already at home. My job has been lacking projects since last summer which is frustrating as heck. I have to say having everyone here ALL the time is annoying because they love me soooo much they talk to me all the time when I am working. LOL

Changes and more changes. Makes life interesting.

The oldest son and family who live out East is doing well. It sort of helped them out because now the son doesn’t have to go to the ship so they are all together. He is in the Navy and landed the on land job last Fall that kept him from deploying with the ship. Nice job. A bit of a promotion. He was suppose to go out for his normal training for nuclear engineering and possibly stay until they made it back. But now no traveling so he is at home with his family. Good news I think.

My new word to repeat is sad……sad…..sad…..sad times.

End of School Year

I see it has been a month since the last post. It has been a busy month for sure. We were getting ready for our second grand baby to be born. She was born about a week ago! A beautiful girl named ZeQara. She is fun and adorable. Mommy is doing good as well. πŸ™‚ She and mommy are living with us currently. ZeQara is a good baby so far.Β  πŸ™‚Β  I tell her mom that means she will be ornery when she is older. LOL

Hopefully not, but you know.Β  Β πŸ™‚

We were blessed with our four kids being pretty good babies. ZeQara’s mom(oldest kid) is so far the orneriest of them all. Still have two going through high school, so one could win that honor yet. The youngest at times tries.

I sure can not believe how fast time flies. I remember as a young kid wanting time to speed up. The adults would say oh just wait, it will go by so fast when you are an adult. I didn’t believe them. Wowzers!

Definitely, they were correct.

Then what will we ever do?

Spoil grand kids? I think that is a winner! We have two now! Bummer the grandson is many miles away, but that might change someday! If not, maybe traveling will be in the plans to see him. Miss his parents as well.Β  πŸ™‚

We are in for some more rain tonight. We have had way too much for the month. Our lake and rivers are getting too high. We did see a tornado two days ago that was along side our neighborhood, a mile or two away, so there was no damage. Hopefully the weather person is wrong for more storms tonight.

Well, I best figure out supper, have a good night everyone! πŸ™‚

On To The Second Week

My boys have made it through their first week of school!

It was more of a struggle today, for me too. So far, they seem to like their classes. Both of them have had homework and they were doing it! My boys like to skip that homework thing so I hope the finishing it will continue.

When I was growing up, I would have never dreamed of not having homework done. I felt lost and anxious if I didn’t have it done. I needed the homework to learn as well. The boys seem to breeze by but they would do so much better if they would study.

Crazy.

They do remember things way better than I did, so I will give them credit there. I was one that had to study for a test the night before and a little bit before the test. Then it all went out of the brain…..lolΒ

Good heavens…their backpacks are packed full! They won’t use their lockers since they are allowed their backpacks in classes. I guess that gets them ready for college. I am going to have to get them a chiropractor appointment!Β  πŸ™‚Β

This school year I am incorporating breakfast before school. Previous years, it was quick snacks before or cereal. I did good last week. Three of the days I made egg type breakfasts and the other two days were a large muffin and a donut.

My youngest rides the bus because he thinks we get there too late, we don’t, and so he eats again at school! That is ok with me.

Surprising since all summer he barely ateΒ anything other than what I cooked at night. He is my skinny six-foot kid. He needs some meat on those bones!

Have your schools began yet?
