Books, Shelves, and More

My current books on one lonely shelf. 🙂

This wall will sometime in the future be my rows of shelves for my books. I have not brought all my books from the Puzzle House yet. I am waiting until this is done so we don’t have to work around them. I have well over 1000 books. A few years ago I cataloged all but the paperback Harlequin novels on a phone app. I lost the app when I changed phones.

Bummer. I will catalog again one day. 🙂

I don’t think I will bring the Harlequin novels here, thinking I will keep them at the Puzzle House. After all, need books there too!

This is my library at the Puzzle House. I miss those shelves. Hubby did a great job making them. Once all the books are off I need to sand and put a clear coat on so I can actually dust them. It is rather difficult dusting right now because the cloth sticks to the shelve. I didn’t sand only painted. I’m thinking of doing some wire doors in areas of the shelves. I think that will be neat looking.

Currently this room was our master bedroom. We are now going to make it our living, library, storage closet (to the left there which was my walk-in closet) and TV room. 🙂

My favorite collection is my V.C. Andrews novels. I am behind on buying them and way behind on reading the new ones. 🙂 I first read My Sweet Audrina in Jr. High. I was hooked. I have only read this one and the Flowers in the Attic series. Yes, I am way behind on reading all the other series. I kept buying them because I knew I would read them someday. I think that day is coming.

Do you buy collections or series?

Laundry…Bottomless Basket.

Laundry is never-ending it seems like. I do a little bit each day instead of all at once. It’s never the same day mostly because I tend to forget to do it. Ok, I stare at it and talk myself out of doing the laundry that day. So a schedule does not work for me.

We do have our middle school boys do their own so they will be prepared for move out day!  🙂 They do good other than the hang up part. The clothes tend to end up on the floor of their closet. Maybe because they know mom will eventually hang them up for them.  🙂

It drives me nuts to see clothes not hung up.

A little trivia:

  • 21% of indoor water usage is from laundry. (http://laundry.about.com)  Maybe that is why I pile the laundry in the least number of loads possible. 🙂
  • The average American family does 8-10 loads every week. (http://laundry.about.com) I can believe that one.

When we looked at our current home we loved the fact the laundry room was a separate room and that it was on the main level. Once we moved in hubby discovered the space was a tad bit small for our laundry set. He had to remove the trim to make them fit. It’s snug. 🙂

Further discover our dryer is on the left. Now, I may be wrong but isn’t the dryer always on the right? Strange and it has been fun adapting to. My routine of throwing the clothes from the washer to the dryer was out of sync for a while.  🙂

Laundry Blog (Our current set up. Hubby complains about the side shelves, he hits his head. I like them because I can hang the clothes on them to put away. )

I would say the construction builders goofed when building the house and didn’t want to correct it. I guess we will be unique.  🙂

What’s up with cats loving to crawl behind the machines? They are always knocking the dryer vent off.

I foresee a future project for hubby blocking their access with shelves. 🙂

Laundry-Room-Makeover-Camerasandchaos Possible ideas: I love this color!

If you look at the shelves that is something we will need to do to block access for the cats. Might have to make it where they can easily come apart for cleaning back behind, etc.

I don’t get the fancy light, too fancy for a laundry room.  🙂

Organized-Laundry-Room-GE-Adora- This would be my dream room but we don’t have the space for it here. But we do at our Puzzle House! So just maybe at that house.  🙂

Simple-small-laundry-room-with-Shelving-ideas-915x1372 Here is another shelf idea but would have to lower it and make it the width of the space from the wall to the machines. There is a good gap so the shelf would be plenty wide. Hubby didn’t push the machines clear back because it was very tight getting them in there. A shelf should work.

Oh, honey….I have a to do thing for you!  🙂
