Video Producer I Am Not

Who out there loves making videos?

While I don’t mind taking them of others I hate myself being in one. I feel like I look like a dork. I suppose until I get use it that will be my opinion of myself. LOL.

I’m not sure I like Instagram having the short video. I mean isn’t that what SnapChat is for.  🙂 The only thing I use SnapChat for is to send short videos to my kids. I seriously have maybe 4 followers. I don’t like using SnapChat for business stuff. I think it is too short. Plus, I think leaving it for fun and not for businesses. I don’t ever click on the business stuff they put on my SnapChat.

I can understand  Instagram being used for businesses because of taking the photos of products you sell. But don’t get the SnapChat one for businesses.

I decided to play around with my computer camera. I discovered some neat features that might make things more interesting once in a while on my social media platforms. Hopefully, you can view this video, if not go to my Facebook Page.

Lots to learn. I am no actress for sure. My voice sounds so weird. 🙂

The big rage is videos! I just don’t want to be the star of them. LOL  🙂

What do you think?

Purrfect

This is one of my daughter’s cats, Nocca. Think I spelled that right. 🙂 Daughter is at annual army training so we are watching her two cats.

I thought for sure that balloon was going to pop and send the cat in the air! LOL But it didn’t. Pets are rather entertaining.

On a sad note, one of our cats got out the front door when kids were opening it and we can’t find him. Heartbroken. Hopefully, he will find his way back. He is not an outdoor cat though. There are so many wooded areas around here and traffic. Worries us. We sure miss him.

Guitars Are Cool!

Who has daydreamed about playing a cool electric guitar in a rock band?

ME ME ME!!!

Growing up I loved the rock bands! Really liked the gorgeous guitar players the most. 🙂 Back when VH1 videos came out, I would watch for hours my favorite rock bands.

Later in college, I went to several rock concerts. To name a few:

Poison

Warrant

Def Leppard — twice!

Ozzy

I enjoyed when the guitar player did a short solo part. It made me want to get up and play my air guitar along with. 🙂 The beat, the sound, the rhythm!

I think this jinx guitar would look awesome under my arm!

Maybe in my retirement I will take up lessons. I’ll be the cool grandma jamming out to the 80’s, 90’s rock music! Oh, yea. 🙂

Flower Explosion

I decided to learn more about my Illustrator program so I signed up for Skillshare. I love the mini classes.

What would we do without videos these days?

The first class I took was Digital Illustration: Doodles to Designs by Jon Burgerman.

First the teacher had us draw doodles. The first one was doodle with your eyes closed!

Doodle 1 Close Eyes (492x640) Looks like a two-year old scribbling, but it was fun. 🙂

Second one we had to doodle what we know.

Doodle 2 Draw what you know (490x640) I have always liked drawing flowers. I mostly drew it without picking up my marker.

The third thing he had us turn the page as we drew and not pick up the marker.

Doodle 3 Turn page do not lift pen (490x640)

The final drawing was a new piece of paper and trace things from all three doodles that we wanted in our new drawing.

Doodle 1 (492x640) My end result!

We scanned it into Photoshop to clean up the lines and the background. A new skill that I knew was possible but was not sure how to go about it. Once it was cleaned up we opened it into Illustrator and he walked us through the Live Trace and the Live Paint option. I had fiddled with those two things but could never get them to work right.

Happy camper to know how to do them now. 🙂

Here is the cleaned up version of lines.

Fixed Lines Doodle 1 (492x640) It makes a difference with the background if you look at the one above.

My colorful explosion.

Colors-Doodle-2 - Copy (491x640)

I have a saved file for the basic line drawing so I can go in and do different color combinations. I am definitely going to work on more doodles so I can get more of a picture out of it than this one was.

The neat thing is you can have this put on different items like T-shirts, mugs, etc. I do have a Zazzle shop (click on Zazzle and it will take you there) that has a couple of my images from a long time ago. I hope to get more designs on there as I get better at creating.

I find doing projects like this gets my creative mode going and it is a nice break from writing and editing. 🙂

Plus, makes for great household decorations! 🙂

Happy Friday! Have a great weekend!
