Unhinged the Movie

The daughter and I went to the movies on Sunday early afternoon. We loved getting to watch a movie at a theater again! πŸ™‚ Our theater is a family owned one, they do own several in our state, but still small. So since June they could only show old movies. I wanted to go to a few but didn’t work out. Summer time we don’t always get to the movies but do like going all the other months. We probably see one every month or two months. Love the theater and I really hope they survive this virus. I’m not one to download movies. We did watch one and can’t even remember the title, it was a Disney one. I would rather go to a big screen to watch a movie.

We watched Unhinged! Oh, it was good. All about road rage and it is a scary thought that it could and probably does happen. Russell Crowe was soooo good in it! He was evil to the core! If you like movies definitely see this one!

I loved eating popcorn from the theater! Yum. We had only 4 others in the theater so it was like having our own viewing. The older lady behind us yelled yes at one point of the movie and it was funny but we were thinking it too! πŸ™‚

We are definitely going to go to more movies! The daughter and son are going to see one next week while I watch the granddaughter! πŸ™‚

I do have to say it was strange not having more people in the theater including employees. Sad. But hopefully it will improve.

Save the theaters! πŸ™‚

Back…I think

I have no excuse for not blogging other than not doing it. πŸ™‚ I did let my site go back to the free version, so I had to redesign it. I like the new design. I see there are some new features if a paying account. I will ponder that for awhile if I finish the year strong. πŸ™‚

I still miss the check spelling and english button. 😦

The son did graduate in May. The school only did an online ceremony which was good but I think they could have done a regular ceremony after seeing several friends’ kids having one. 😦 Now, we have another senior and so hope he gets one. He was going to do the online learning until they showed what classes were offered. He was disappointed but switched to going to the school. He doesn’t fear the virus because he has been working the whole time other than a month and they take his temperature every time, but he had hoped for the online since it sounds like little socializing at school. 😦

I still do not know anyone who has had it. I hope it stays that way. πŸ™‚

The son that graduated stayed with his job until about June and then quit because there was a kid he worked mainly with that was not nice to him. He wished he wasn’t like that because he misses the job a bit. Maybe things worked out because his car has quit and would have been difficult to get him to the job because it was 30 minutes away. He has been helping me out and chilling until hopefully this virus slows down and then find a job. He gets anxiety with wearing the mask. He has allergies so sneezes a lot which isn’t a good thing right now. LOL He won’t take any medicine. Which is good because he doesn’t like pills but yet he would feel better if he did, perhaps. LOL

I have been busy watching the granddaughter when the daughter goes to work. I forget how much a toddler wears me out. I just don’t have the energy now to do it ALL. LOL I am amazed how I did it in my 20s and 30s. πŸ™‚ The daughter has met a very nice man who I think may be the one! He is really nice and polite. Win Win. πŸ™‚

Hubby is still truck driving but definitely is counting down the days to retire, 2 years! πŸ™‚ I’m counting the days as well. Ready for him to be home all the time! πŸ™‚

Our 3 1/2 year old refrigerator broke this week. Sucks. So we got to decide on a new one. Just sucks that it has to go to the appliance graveyard. We all liked it. πŸ™‚ It was a challenge this week with me watching the granddaughter 24/7 since her mom had her Army AT. Both boys helped a lot with trying to figure out the problem and cleaning out all the WASTED food! 😦 Needless to say we ate out a lot but we do more than normal now since this virus has showed it’s ugly face. We do have our old fridge downstairs and the repairman got it to not leak anymore. Yay! But the hubby and son said no way they are hauling it upstairs again! LOL It is heavy and the stairs are not straight up, they are a challenge. We do like having that one down there for drinks and over flow of food. πŸ™‚

We haven’t done anything this summer since the virus. We really missed not being able to see the oldest son and his family in May. He says he may get to come here for Christmas. Cross fingers! πŸ™‚

I hope everyone is healthy! Have a good weekend!

Time Is Flying

I feel like I do not accomplish anything anymore. Sigh. The boys started elearning April 6th. It kept getting moved. Don’t think it is for them. No matter how much I nag them they don’t do enough logging in or homework. Homework was that way before though. I am beginning to think the daughter was way easier to get through school even though she was a social butterfly and got into some trouble. The boys have no interest. Sigh again. But it is what it is. Just makes me sad more that the school year would have ended better with in person classes instead of the online learning. I like online but no one else in the house does. Really praying the senior son graduates, because it isn’t looking positive right now. Sadly no graduation ceremony because of the dang virus. Sad for everyone. The school did come up with a virtual ceremony but people griped and even said they wouldn’t participate which is not right to me. I think it’s great that they will do something at least. A little hard to have small graduations when the class is 300+. I understand that it would require a lot of graduations because of keeping it to the 10 and under size requirements for state guidelines. Of course, the school has to worry about someone getting sick and then blaming them. I really don’t know what the solution would be.

The online ceremony is also keeping with the graduation requirements and one of those is having all your volunteer hours done. Sadly my senior did not get those done. I’m not sure if he will be included on that. 😦 My senior is a true introvert unless he knows you well. He mostly stays home so didn’t have to worry about much as he was growing up. He has had some health issues so I think that kept him home more as well. On a good note he has had a job since March working on semi trucks, maintenance, not the deep mechanical part. It has had it’s up and downs. His main supervisor is a kid that graduated last year as the main maintenance man and he is pretty moody. I hope it doesn’t deter my senior from not liking the job. I was hoping they would be good friends but doesn’t look like it now. He has already used his welding skills from school and learning good basic skills. A great first job with good pay making more than I ever did.

Everyone in the household doing fine. No one sick and all essential employees. We don’t go many places even when there is no stay at home so we are doing alright. Youngest son has went fishing a few times, yummy fish. He was recently hired back to his job and it has made him so happy. He was getting unmotivated. Maybe it will help with the learning. I can hope. πŸ™‚

The sun is starting to shine more! We kept going from warm out to freezing. Tired of that. My one flower plant is tired of that. LOL

Stay healthy everyone and hope everyone can get back to work and life and everything else. πŸ™‚

Same Ole Day

This whole virus thing is definitely crazy. It hasn’t been real different for us. We normally stay home. Now, if the restaurants are completely shut down that will be a whole different story. We tend to eat out for entertainment. Not everyday but we do get ice cream, drinks, and the occasional meal. It will affect my daughter’s employment. She has her hours cut currently but still holding a job. The younger son who works with her unfortunately was laid off. We try to eat out still to help out the businesses but we can’t do too much in case hubby’s hours get cut. So far he is doing ok because he is a truck driver, but not in the food industry. Our son that is suppose to graduate this year landed a job helping the mechanic at hubby’s place of employment. The place is along the interstate by no where else so they should be fine with no spreading, hopefully. The son has enjoyed not having school because he has been able to work more than Saturdays.

I am sad he can’t finish out his senior year at school. Our state closed for the rest of this school year. Bummed. He isn’t sad about prom because he didn’t go last year and wasn’t planning on it this year. His brother that is a junior is sad because he has a date who already has her dress. Sad. Knowing my creative and bored junior he will come up with some way to still have prom. πŸ™‚ Just low numbers, which their group of friends would make the 10 and under. Maybe outside? Grill party in fancy dresses? Ideas are endless.

The boys start elearning April 1st. Not too sure about this. Nothing against the teachers, just my kids. They may not listen to me about appearing for checkins. I believe they will get the work done just not the rest of requirements. Sigh. The senior kid really needs teacher in person. He is not an online learner, textbook all the way. Needless to say the laptop for him is not useful or been used much. But we will give it a try! Another sad note, both my boys had hands on learning classes that they will miss. It definitely won’t be fun online because they are already saying no to watching videos of the stuff, even though they watch 100s of YouTube videos. Stubborn kids. We will figure it out.

This of course hasn’t changed much for me for working already at home. My job has been lacking projects since last summer which is frustrating as heck. I have to say having everyone here ALL the time is annoying because they love me soooo much they talk to me all the time when I am working. LOL

Changes and more changes. Makes life interesting.

The oldest son and family who live out East is doing well. It sort of helped them out because now the son doesn’t have to go to the ship so they are all together. He is in the Navy and landed the on land job last Fall that kept him from deploying with the ship. Nice job. A bit of a promotion. He was suppose to go out for his normal training for nuclear engineering and possibly stay until they made it back. But now no traveling so he is at home with his family. Good news I think.

My new word to repeat is sad……sad…..sad…..sad times.

Oh, The Joys of Electronics!

My “bleep bleep” computer has been giving me fits for a few months now. It is driving me nuts. Thank goodness I have other things to do so I can walk away from it when it makes me angry. It sure doesn’t help that I rely on it for so many things.

The bad thing is it is probably due to some dang virus or idiot who thinks it is fun to put bugs on our electronics. It sucks that an antivirus does not always catch them either. I think those people should be locked up and the key threw away. It’s not like one can go buy another electronic to replace it whenever they want.

I had to vent, it is really aggravating when you need to do some work and the electronic doesn’t function the way it should. My electronic is not that old either. It makes it even more frustrating. Grumble.

I am lucky that I know how to fix a few things so I don’t have to rely on paying someone. I can thank my hubby for teaching me his knowledge of electronics. But boy, does it waste a lot of hours in the day.

Maybe the electronic is telling me, go paint that wall you have had the paint bought for! πŸ™‚

I guess I will go paint that wall. Hope your day goes without any electronic issues!
