Pondering More Changes

I have been busy with house and kid stuff lately so not much writing going on. Last weekend hubby and I painted and cleaned up the laundry room. It looks so much better. Here is a before picture. Hubby began painting.

20160227_154621It is rather narrow. The previous owners had spot painted where marks were and the paint did not match. It was a bit annoying to look at. Now it is a cool very light green. The color brightened it up from the tan! We had a wire shelf on the left side that got in the way of TALL people. LOL. Hubby kept hitting his head on it when he used the dryer. I didn’t have much problem though but it is nice having it gone.  Now, there is a nice shelf above the washer and dryer and we bought a pantry for all other items. I want to put my brooms and such in it but I can not get the pegs to come out to move the shelves. I need my he man hubby to do it. 🙂

I have not finished with the decorating so no finished picture but I will post when I get it done.

Also, in order for the washer and dryer to fit we needed to take out the trim work so we replaced it with nice white trim leading up to the appliances with a wooden end. It looks awesome! Picture to come soon!

My pondering mind has led me to finally delete my Facebook page. No one really read it and I stayed at the same numbers for years. I can utilize my time better actually writing. LOL. Where is that motivation? 🙂 It really is the pits that Facebook wants you to pay in order for all people to see it. I rather enjoy Twitter and Google+. I will concentrate more there. 🙂

Laundry…Bottomless Basket.

Laundry is never-ending it seems like. I do a little bit each day instead of all at once. It’s never the same day mostly because I tend to forget to do it. Ok, I stare at it and talk myself out of doing the laundry that day. So a schedule does not work for me.

We do have our middle school boys do their own so they will be prepared for move out day!  🙂 They do good other than the hang up part. The clothes tend to end up on the floor of their closet. Maybe because they know mom will eventually hang them up for them.  🙂

It drives me nuts to see clothes not hung up.

A little trivia:

  • 21% of indoor water usage is from laundry. (http://laundry.about.com)  Maybe that is why I pile the laundry in the least number of loads possible. 🙂
  • The average American family does 8-10 loads every week. (http://laundry.about.com) I can believe that one.

When we looked at our current home we loved the fact the laundry room was a separate room and that it was on the main level. Once we moved in hubby discovered the space was a tad bit small for our laundry set. He had to remove the trim to make them fit. It’s snug. 🙂

Further discover our dryer is on the left. Now, I may be wrong but isn’t the dryer always on the right? Strange and it has been fun adapting to. My routine of throwing the clothes from the washer to the dryer was out of sync for a while.  🙂

Laundry Blog (Our current set up. Hubby complains about the side shelves, he hits his head. I like them because I can hang the clothes on them to put away. )

I would say the construction builders goofed when building the house and didn’t want to correct it. I guess we will be unique.  🙂

What’s up with cats loving to crawl behind the machines? They are always knocking the dryer vent off.

I foresee a future project for hubby blocking their access with shelves. 🙂

Laundry-Room-Makeover-Camerasandchaos Possible ideas: I love this color!

If you look at the shelves that is something we will need to do to block access for the cats. Might have to make it where they can easily come apart for cleaning back behind, etc.

I don’t get the fancy light, too fancy for a laundry room.  🙂

Organized-Laundry-Room-GE-Adora- This would be my dream room but we don’t have the space for it here. But we do at our Puzzle House! So just maybe at that house.  🙂

Simple-small-laundry-room-with-Shelving-ideas-915x1372 Here is another shelf idea but would have to lower it and make it the width of the space from the wall to the machines. There is a good gap so the shelf would be plenty wide. Hubby didn’t push the machines clear back because it was very tight getting them in there. A shelf should work.

Oh, honey….I have a to do thing for you!  🙂
