Lake Fun

Last Saturday, the daughter came over and we all headed to the lake for some fun! We decided to rent some kayaks and a canoe for about four hours. It was reasonably priced and a perfect day too. No wind and the temp was low 90s. Way better than those 100s.

The hubby and I manned the canoe together while the three kids paddled the kayaks. We went across the lake, under a bridge, around some bends, and bothered some geese. πŸ™‚ Oh, and was in the way of many boats and fishermen at times. OOPS.

They all know how I hate snakes, so they were constantly yelling for to watch out for that water snake! Turds!

I swear hubby was trying to tip us in the canoe most of the time! He kept moving around because he couldn’t get a comfortable spot. Guess we need a pillow for him next time! LOL

At one point, the boys grabbed sister’s paddle and took off with it. She was stranded for a while until we got it and gave it to her. Pretty funny.

We all left our phones in the vehicles but the middle son. Amazingly, he did not lose it. He also got some funny videos. πŸ™‚

Hubby and I stopped about forty minutes before the kids did so I was able to take a few pictures when they paddled in to put the kayaks away. I do believe investing in some kayaks is in the future. πŸ™‚ And a boat…and a jet ski….and every other water fun thing.

A very nice young man asked if we wanted him to take our picture when the daughter was taking ours. Heck yes. Thank you. πŸ™‚

Only thing better would have been the oldest son, daughter-in-law, and grandson in the picture. πŸ™‚ Miss them.

Now on to the next adventure….

Back To School

1502912444754 My two teenagers this morning before school! Time is flying! I have to steal pictures anymore for school days. That is ok, makes for some interesting poses. πŸ™‚ They are both in High School now. I hope their day went well.

IMG_20170816_084332 This was my day this morning! Celebrate with donuts and a Pepsi! I actually didn’t drink much of that Pepsi. I’m getting to where a Pepsi is not tasty in the mornings. Now, I do enjoy my afternoon one. πŸ™‚

Happy to say I did go to the YMCA today and exercised! Now, my treadmill didn’t look like that but that would be kind of fun. πŸ™‚ It felt good to get back. I failed during the summer going. I thought the kids would go with me a lot, nope. Strive for next summer. I am going to stay on track, yes. Yes. Yes. Keep telling myself that. πŸ™‚

IMG_20170816_125815 When I left the YMCA I headed to the supermarket to get me a chef salad and Fiji water! It was yummy. I think that makes up for the donuts and pop this morning, right? πŸ™‚

A pretty good start to my return of a school routine! πŸ™‚

Have a great day! πŸ™‚

Pondering or Procrastination…who cares!

Obeyville-Snoop-Book-Cover-1Β I am back to editing and writing!

I think I pondered enough, seven months worth! πŸ™‚ Or was it procrastination? Either way it felt good to write again today. I like my first chapter for the first time in the three years I began this quest. πŸ™‚ I think that is a good sign and I will run with it. Good vibes! πŸ™‚

I need to adjust my type on the cover but currently I do not have the software to do so. I do like the cover for the most partΒ but I think I need to ponder it some more. πŸ™‚ LOL

I do believe unless I get very windy at the end of the book it will become a novella. I think that is more my calling than a lengthy novel. Time will tell. πŸ™‚

laughing_kittenΒ Just had to insert this funny cat laughing. It shows the mood I am inΒ and when I am in a good mood the words flow! πŸ™‚ Plus, who can resist a cute cat. Ok, don’t answer that.

smile bookNow for some fun passages from the first chapter to get you thinking about the book. Hopefully. πŸ™‚

“The memories I have with my friends sliding down the steep creek bank zooming across the frozen water to the other side were the best times.”

“I enjoy finding new things to sell especially at garage sales. I blame my mom for that one, she started me young going to those. One person’s tosses is another person’s treasures, she loves to say.”

“On the left side of the path I could see the old crooked tree that we loved to play truth, dare, or double dare around. We nicknamed it the Love Tree.”

“I could drop to the ground and hide among the tall grasses. Sting weed and snakes. I do not like that combination.”

“My head thumped the hard ground and the world went dark.”

Stay tuned! πŸ™‚

The adventure begins! πŸ™‚

Popping Questions

By Adric Ray (my 5th grade son)

Ahh! What a disgusting drink. Aw the taste of water… Have you guys ever liked water so much. Well the real question is do you think Spring Valley should sell pop at our school, I don’t think so at least. I don’t think so because if you do the teachers will have to tell the kids to be quiet more because they’re more hyper. (Β I already talk a lot! Lol) Also if you let kids buy pop they’re gonna go home and their parents are gonna complain sense they just drank 3-6 pops which is surprising. It also isn’t that healthy for you, your parents are going to have to take you to the dentist and it’s gonna add up and cost a lot after a while. Plus soon or later you would have lost all of your teeth.

The teachers already get mad if you talk a lot. You’d lose your recess of course… If you talk too much what would be the point of buying it anyways. Plus if you hyper in the mornings you shouldn’t even get it cause you already have all your energy. You shouldn’t buy this for multiple reasons. It’ll give some of your teachers stress.

Also your teacher’s class would have children buying 3-6 pops a week or even a day! You would be getting a lot of complaint mail and you would have problems. The kid’s parents would be sending you their child’s dentist’s bills. You would be like I don’t have the money! There are just that many kids that would drink that much.

That’s my reason why you shouldn’t buy pops for school. True it would give kids the energy but they would be bouncing around like BOING BOING. I would like a pop every once and a while. But if you did limit or something. Plus some of your students would get annoyed by other crazy kids and they would disobey some of the rules.

I am happy to see he knows pop is bad for you. πŸ™‚ He sees me drink one almost everyday. I definitely don’t allow them to have pop all the time. I encourage water and they do see me drink more waterΒ than pop. I am glad he understands.

I am finding his essays to be entertaining this year. I like seeing his thoughts. I think the Common Core is not all bad. It is just a change. If it encourages more writing, well heck, I am all for it. πŸ™‚

365 Questions 5 Years 1,825 Answers…Journal Away

I don’t know why I didn’t think of this when I began this blog, but now a bright light has went off in my head. Unbelievable uh. πŸ™‚ I bought a neat 5 Year Journal last year that asks question everyday of the year for 5 years. It is neat now to see what I wrote last year compared to this year. I have to admit I didn’t always remember to write on that day last year. I sometimes had to go back and remember or think of something. I will try harder to remember this next half of a year. Wow, half the year is gone already.

Of course, I won’t do it everyday and blog down your emails or screen but maybe keep with my weekly blog.

I bought it thinking it might give me some writing material. I was thinking more of for my novels but hey this works. It is like having a daily prompt!
