End of School Year

I see it has been a month since the last post. It has been a busy month for sure. We were getting ready for our second grand baby to be born. She was born about a week ago! A beautiful girl named ZeQara. She is fun and adorable. Mommy is doing good as well. 🙂 She and mommy are living with us currently. ZeQara is a good baby so far.  🙂  I tell her mom that means she will be ornery when she is older. LOL

Hopefully not, but you know.   🙂

We were blessed with our four kids being pretty good babies. ZeQara’s mom(oldest kid) is so far the orneriest of them all. Still have two going through high school, so one could win that honor yet. The youngest at times tries.

I sure can not believe how fast time flies. I remember as a young kid wanting time to speed up. The adults would say oh just wait, it will go by so fast when you are an adult. I didn’t believe them. Wowzers!

Definitely, they were correct.

Then what will we ever do?

Spoil grand kids? I think that is a winner! We have two now! Bummer the grandson is many miles away, but that might change someday! If not, maybe traveling will be in the plans to see him. Miss his parents as well.  🙂

We are in for some more rain tonight. We have had way too much for the month. Our lake and rivers are getting too high. We did see a tornado two days ago that was along side our neighborhood, a mile or two away, so there was no damage. Hopefully the weather person is wrong for more storms tonight.

Well, I best figure out supper, have a good night everyone! 🙂

Reflection

My mind has been a jumble of nothings. I have wanted to write a blog for the last month at least. Many things I could have written about but seemed on the boring side. I need to set up a voice recorder in my car, thoughts always happen the best there.

Go figure.

Then I think surfing the net will help spark a thought or two and all it does is sidetrack me.  🙂  I am going to try hard to not surf as much until I write something whether it is a blog post or on paper from now on.

Goal #1. (It is not even the new year! LOL )

I just realized the year my youngest graduates High School, in 3 years,  I will be 50 years young! Wow!

Where the heck has the time gone?

What have I accomplished?

I have enjoyed my life. Some bumps and some boring parts but for the most part it has been good. It definitely hasn’t went like I thought it would. But I would not have liked it if it had because that means I would not be spontaneous. Right? Who wants to know their future? Not me.

Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. Mine was good for a day.

The rest of the weekend was rather….not what I wanted. I guess 16 years of marriage can cause a few hiccups. Nothing terrible, the other half chose to do his own thing for a couple of days away from us. He is already gone during the week, so it surprised me. He always spends his time off with us. This was a first.

It wouldn’t have been a big deal if he was home all week. I could totally understand getting away once in a while. Usually, if I can’t go, then he stays.

It confused me to say the least.

As I ponder about it, it really wasn’t a bad thing.  I hope it doesn’t mean more of it will happen, then we might have a problem which will result in a swift kick in his butt! 🙂

Do you always spend time with your other half? (other than when they have work)

How’s Your Year?

valentine-4(created by Me! 🙂 Forget the year)

It hasn’t been terrible but hasn’t been good either. Mostly, little things that are stressful. Kids not minding, money issues, things breaking, etc. You get the drift. I guess if fate gets all these out-of-the-way these first few months and then smooth sailing the rest of the year than that will be great. 🙂 Time will tell.

We sure have not had much winter time. I hope that doesn’t mean it will be a late winter when spring is supposed to hit. We have had cool temperatures just not the white stuff. 🙂 Glad for hardly any below zero temps. I think we had one week of that and that was enough. 🙂

Thanks to my stress level I haven’t achieved much of what I set out to do this year. But it is early. I hate being unproductive, gets me in a mood of depression. Not severe just down.

One good thing, I started back at the YMCA. A few times the boys have went with me which is fun. 🙂 They like lifting weights.

I wanted to wish everyone a Happy Valentine’s Day tomorrow. It is my favorite holiday. I love hearts and all things about it. No, you don’t have to have a certain someone to enjoy the holiday. 🙂 I still loved it when I was single. Hubby will be on the road so he gave me three roses this weekend and we grilled with the boys. 🙂 I think we have had more Valentine’s away than together during our whole time together. At least with technology one can still feel like they are there. I will send him a snapchat tomorrow. 🙂 I do miss a tiny bit making Valentine’s for my kids’ classrooms. We made ours most of the time, except when we procrastinated and had to buy them. LOL  🙂

valentines-2012(Here is one I made when the boys’ had to make them. I did it in Illustrator. 🙂 )

Have a great day tomorrow! And the rest of the week, year etc! 🙂

Calendar Journal

I like to jot things down through the year on a calendar. Last year, I bought a quarterly calendar and it had a lot of room to write things where the date was. Then in April of last year I decided to go with the binder and filler pages. I enjoyed it and it had a lot of room to add pages if need be.

This year, I bought the binder again. I was surprised the store no longer carried the calendar refill. I pondered for the last week of what I wanted to do. I know I could have gone to an office supply store or order it online but my mind was thinking go more creative. What do I do but head to Pinterest for ideas. 🙂

Lots of neat free printables to choose from. 🙂

The one’s I chose.

I am pretty happy with them so far. Eventually, I want to make my own. I like doing that kind of stuff. 🙂

I put them in three sections.

I used my teddy bear stationery cut down to size. I have tons of stationery because we once had a small office and computer store. I am eager to get it used up so I can justify buying new stuff. LOL (I keep telling myself it needs all used up first but now I do have room for more so just maybe I can buy a couple new ones. 🙂 )

This is the front cover. 🙂

I figure the calendar is the perfect way to know what year the journal is. 🙂

The reason I use the smaller binder is when I carry my big purse I can place it in it. Plus, the smaller size uses less ink to print. 🙂 lol

How do you organize your year?

I had a good hair day today so I am going to post my selfie for the month. LOL

20160112_144024 I chopped my hair about a month ago. She actually cut more than I wanted to but I like it ok. It will grow. I am thinking I want some color to it. I might even go brave with a hint of teal. ???? It will be a few months pondering time. 🙂

2015 in review

Thank you everyone! 🙂

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2015 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

The concert hall at the Sydney Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 9,600 times in 2015. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 4 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

Question: What are you reading right now?

2012: Scarlett— love it! Had to read it after finishing Gone With The Wind. I had to know what they hoped would happen. The two authors’ writing is different but I enjoyed them.

2013: Several books at once. I never thought I would do that. Love reading again. Goal for year is 40 books.

2014: One book and one ebook. Goal is 52 books this year. (I only read 25, bummer.)

2015: One book and one ebook. I like the change from the electronic to the real deal of a book. Soon my creative cave will be done and I can bring the rest of my books from our other house. I use to buy them all the time but most I have never read. I have well over 1000 books. 🙂 I will probably bring only the hardback ones and the series paperback. I have tons of Harlequin books but think I will keep them at the other house. Way too many to bring here. Plus, need something there to read. 🙂 Goal this year is 40 but secretly hoping for more.
